Tearbucketer album
$23.79 HISTORY BOOK 1 contains one disc of Jackson's greatest hits and one disc of all-new songs. It features a 52-page booklet with liner notes by Janet Jackson, Steven Spielberg, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor, as well as many never-before-seen photographs.
HISTORY BOOK 1 was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Album Of The Year. "You Are Not Alone" was nominated for Grammy Awards for Song Of The Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, and the Michael Jackson-Janet Jackson duet "Scream" was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.
Michael Jackson's monumental collection HISTORY BOOK 1 seeks to make two points. The first disc--chock full of hits spanning Jackson's Epic Records solo career--tries to establish how the so-called King of Pop earned that nickname in the first place; the second disc, featuring fifteen new, star-studded tracks, makes a case for him holding onto that royal moniker well into the next century. And though many may dismiss both directives as the product of Jackson camp hype, once the music begins it's hard to deny him any title he wishes to bestow upon himself.
All of the songs on HISTORY's first disc have already been ingrained in the minds of the radio-listening, MTV-watching public. From the funky disco of 1979's "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," through the countless and diverse THRILLER hits ("Billie Jean," "The Girl Is Mine," etc.), to the anthemic peace-in-our-time ballad "Heal The World," Jackson's star-power-fueled singles invested the mainstream with black pop's soulfulness to the point where black pop became the mainstream. And Jackson, subsequently, became pop's king.

| | Black Eyed Peas E.N.D. (the Energy Never Dies) CD (2009)
Tearbucketer CD music
$11.49 Black Eyed Peas, the hip-hop crossover juggernaut that propelled singer Fergie and producer Will.I.Am to superstardom, have, since 2003's ELEPHUNK, been audaciously plugging away at their bombastic but lighthearted style of rap-cum-dance pop--an effort that has translated to a run of successful chart-topping singles including "My Humps," "Pump It," and "Don't Phunk with My Heart." Eager to follow up on the platinum-selling success of 2005's MONKEY BUSINESS, Black Eyed Peas have returned with THE E.N.D. (an acronym for "Energy Never Dies"), their third studio effort. Combining Will.I.Am's thumping 808 kick drum-infused beats with production assistance from a host of collaborators (including vocoder-loving Torontoians ...

| | Very Best Of Otis Redding CD (1992)
Tearbucketer songs
$8.49 It is impossible to overrate Otis Redding. This Rhino compilation, while in no way comprehensive, is nonetheless an outstanding sampler of songs by one of soul music's all-time titans. There's not a dud among these 16 songs, and some, like "These Arms Of Mine," "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay," and "Try A Little Tenderness," rank among the greatest pop songs ever recorded.
Redding's performances are mesmerizing and seem to embody the perfect balance between acute sensitivity and sheer overwhelming emotional ...
| | Don Henley Very Best Of CDs (2009) With DVD; Deluxe Edition
Tearbucketer album
$14.54 Fourteen years separate 2009's THE VERY BEST OF DON HENLEY and Henley's first compilation ACTUAL MILES: HENLEY'S GREATEST HITS. During that near decade-and-a-half, Henley only released one new album, 2000's INSIDE JOB, a record that generated a couple of minor hit singles highlighted by "Taking You Home," which reached number 58 on Billboard's Hot 100 and number twelve on the magazine's Adult Top 40 chart. This means that this 2009 compilation doesn't have anything major that's not on the 1995 disc - even the cover of Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows," which debuted on ...
| | AC Highway To Hell CD (1979) Remastered; Deluxe Edition
Tearbucketer CD music
$9.29 This is a Hyper CD, which contains regular audio tracks and also provides a link to the artist's website with the help of a web browser.
It will always be a mystery how a grown man can spend his life wearing a school tie and short pants and receive adulation from the heavy metal fraternity. HM followers do not tolerate a cissy, yet the hugely talented Angus Young has become something of a hero. His riff-laden fills, combined with the tough vocals of the late Bon Scott, made AC/DC one of the genre's all-time leading lights. Bordering on the lighter side of metal, songs such as 'Love Hungry Man', 'Touch Too Much' and the title track will always delight.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.
Recorded at Roundhouse Studios, London, ...
| | J Geils Band Monkey Island CD (1977)
Tearbucketer music CDs
$9.55 Although it didn't sell in the same numbers as their '80s releases LOVE STINKS and FREEZE FRAME, the J. Geils Band's 1977 album MONKEY ISLAND is considered to be one of the group's best recordings amongst longtime fans. While a few of the tracks still retain the festive rock direction of their earlier releases (most notably their upbeat cover of "I Do," which would ...

| | Fat Joe Loyalty CD (2002)
Tearbucketer album
$8.49 The Bronx's favorite son, the portly Hispanic rapper known affectionately as Fat Joe, has been kicking street-real rhymes for years, whether on his own or bolstered by an impressive posse including the likes of Big Pun. No matter how gangsta he gets, though, its difficult not to like Fat Joe, whose warm, organic lyrical flow is more engaging than off-putting. Thematically, he's more focused on old-school braggadocio than on any overt threats of crime and violence. Like any good rapper, ...

| | Switchfoot Oh! Gravity CD (2006)
Tearbucketer CD music
$9.59 On its third major-label album, 2006's OH GRAVITY, the San Diego-based alternative-rock ensemble Switchfoot widens its musical scope even further than on previous outings, resulting in its most immediately engaging release. Although the band has never completely pulled away from its Christian roots, the record's themes are not blatantly religious, giving the group a remarkably broad appeal, as best evidenced on the guitar-driven ...
