FULL MOON was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary R&B Album.
The first couple of years of the 21st century proved to be a crowded field for photogenic young R&B-pop divas (Britney, Christina, Mya, the list goes on...). Many of these occupy a file in some folks' minds that's labeled "one-shot." FULL MOON serves to disprove such notions in the case of the in-it-for-the-long-haul siren Brandy. The album kicks off with a whisper, as the young songstress lets her voice gently caress the lush, balladic tones of the title track. Things kick into gear in short order though (on the very next tune, in fact) with "I Thought," where our girl lets her feelings of romantic disappointment out over a firm, funky backdrop full of heavy bass. By the time we reach the undulating "Can We," street-smart hip-hop influences have crept into the production aesthetic by way of squiggling synths and forceful beats. Throughout FULL MOON, whether she's belting it out or sneaking in the back door, Brandy lets her listeners know she's more than just a flash in the pan.

nothing else to say but WOW (like she sings it!) Brandy is back with another very good album...when i say Very good album , i mean it...after her self-titled first album BRANDY ad the second one NEVER SAY NEVER...That album shows how Brandy evolved vocally! i was almost shocked when i heard that sweeter and smoother voice of hers (compared to her previous albums where it sounds not really mature but still VERY GOOD TO HEAR!)... her runs on the beats are amazing and so natural....she doesnt need to yell on them to have shaky songs...

I Can Totally Relate!!!!!!!! The entire album spoke to me in a way that nobody can explain. I just got to this CD a couple of days ago and even though it was out in 2002. Its clear is the best album for me in 2005. Singles like "He Is" "When You Touch Me" "Die Without You" "Wow" "Its Not Worth It" (Recent brake up) I have found myself in a relationship and it totally explained my love for my new lover. I totally think this album closed doors for Ciara, Ashanti, Mariah, Beyonce, and all of them. Brandy you are number one and you have and always will be Number One in my life as a Singer and Actress. You must get this album. You'll cry like I did. Submitted by Keyon (Jacksonville, FL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Full Moon album
$6.15 Brandy was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. The single "Baby" was nominated for a 1996 Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
Brandy Norwood, the teen television actress on "Thea," began making waves in the pop world with her debut album BRANDY and her Top 10 single "I Wanna Be Down." The album is young, bubbly, and even sexy. Brandy's soul-touched R&B sound mixes sweetly with her jazz-inflected flourishes. Her themes are the concerns of any 15-year old. The midtempo "I Wanna Be Down" deals with teenage desire, "I Dedicate" pays tribute to her musical inspirations and her family, "Best Friend" is a paean to her brother (also a television actor), and "Give Me You" is a piano-driven, upbeat religious affirmation, effectively showcasing her gospel roots.
Her strong voice is more than competent enough to handle the sometimes tricky musical changes. She often displays a breathy, low-register vocalizing that is mature and controlled. Brandy, who also co-wrote some of the material, displays the musical chops to join the league of some of the influential artists she acknowledges in "I Dedicate." She is ...

Full Moon CD music
$6.35 NEVER SAY NEVER was nominated for a 1999 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. "The Boy Is Mine" won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, and was nominated for Record Of The Year and Best R&B Song. "Almost Doesn't Count" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
Avoiding the dreaded sophomore slump, Brandy delivers a fresh-sounding, well- crafted second album that sounds as much like pop as it does R&B. NEVER SAY NEVER features a song, "Have You Ever?," that was written by mega-songstress Diane Warren and produced by super-producer David Foster. The lead single, "The Boy is Mine" is a duet with fellow R&B'er Monica. Keeping up with the trend of big-time collaborations, multi-platinum rapper Mase makes an appearance on "Top of the World," which seems custom made for jeep jockeys.
Although sprinkled with other contributors, most of the album was produced by Rodney Jerkins. With a focus that is sometimes lost on a follow-up to a smashing debut, Brandy's composure and experience shine through in a product that is 16 songs ...

Full Moon music CDs
$9.59 "U Remind Me" won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
"U Don't Have To Call" won the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
R&B mack daddy Usher puts a lot of himself into 8701; that's apparent even from the title itself, which represents the year Usher began exploring the world of music ('87) and the place where music brought him by the time of this recording ('01). He starts thing out in grand style with the romantic "U Remind Me." "I Don't Know" takes a hip-hop turn with a contribution from P. Diddy (that's Puff Daddy for those of you arriving late), but Usher is quick to point out that he's strictly about partying and loving, not about thug life. While there are some amped-up, percolating tunes that make good use of Usher's high energy ("I Can't Let U Go"), he really hits his stride when he falls into the familiar position of heartthrob/crooner. His sensual cooing, breathy tone, and smooth-as-silk delivery on the likes of "Can U Help Me" (Usher seems to have graduated from the Prince school of song titles) and "How Do I Say" play to this charmer's ...
| | Tweet Southern Hummingbird CD (2002)
Full Moon songs
$10.29 Contains 2 untitled hidden tracks after "Southern Hummingbird (Outro)."
Despite being a protege of hip-hop artist Missy Elliott, Rochester native Tweet has a style much more in common with the urban soul of India.Arie. Having spent nearly a decade trying to get a big break, Tweet offers a more mature approach to her relationship themes. Despite the presence of executive producers Elliott and longtime creative partner Timbaland, much of SOUTHERN HUMMINGBIRD is steeped in Tweet's honeyed vocals and acoustic guitar woven around languid grooves.
Songs like the slow-jam "Smoking Cigarettes" and ...
| | Johnny Otis 1945-1947 CD (2002)
Full Moon album
$18.05 Growing up among Afro-Americans in Berkeley, CA, Greek-American Johnny Otis (born John Veliotes) always identified strongly with people of color. Before he had attained the age of 20 he was gigging with black jazz bands throughout the Southwest, and eventually organized an ensemble deliberately patterned after Count Basie's orchestra. This highly charged album of historical musical artifacts documents the very beginning of Johnny Otis' recording career. With one apparently unobtainable exception, the Classics Blues & Rhythm Series has assembled all of Otis' Excelsior recordings, made in Los Angeles between 1945 and ...
