(1 Customer Review)
Practically identical to the same-titled but quickly out-of-print Best of N2Deep by Soul Town in 1999, the 40 Ounce collection rounds up all of N2Deep's best moments from the 1990s. The Cali duo from Vallejo specialized in party rap, and that's mostly what's compiled here, particularly on "Back to the Hotel," "California Hot Tubs," and "All Night," probably N2Deep's three most recognized songs. There are plenty more highlights here, though, specifically "Toss Up," "V-Town," "Threesome," "Parkin' Lot Pimpin'," "Cali Lifestyles," and "1st We Drink." Actually, there aren't any flat-out weak moments here, as every song is a standout on its respective album. A few fellow Cali Bay Area guests pop up here and there, including B-Legit, E-40, Mac Lee, P.S.D., Dru Down, and the one and only Roger Troutman. Given the handful of N2Deep albums released during the '90s and also their questionable availability, 40 Ounce's Best of N2Deep is surely the ideal place to begin, though the harder-to-find Soul Town collection should serve you just as well considering its practically identical track selection. ~ Jason Birchmeier
The album features appearances from Mac Dre, E-40, B-Legit, Baby Bash, Roger Troutman, PSD, Young Dru and more. This is a re-issue of the 40 Ounce Records 2002 release.
Additional personnel includes: E-40, B-Legit, Mac Dre, Dru Down, Roger.
Producers: Phil Armstrong, Lev Berlak, Johnny Z.

Best Of N2deep CD music
$9.35 In 1993, when N2DEEP was riding high off of the success of their GOLD album, Back To The Hotel, they stuck a deal and was in the studio recording an album for Capitol Records. That album would never see the light of day until now.Rappers James Trujillo a.k.a. Jay Tee and Tim Lyon a.k.a. T.L. comprise N2DEEP, the Vallejo, California based rap group that debuted in 1992 with the LP, Back To The Hotel. Back To The Hotel would go on to sell an astonishing nine hundred thousand copies earning N2DEEP a GOLD album certification and a PLATINUM single certification and placing them among the ranks of the hip-hop elite.A sold out world tour followed shortly thereafter with other headliners MC Hammer, DJ Quik, and Tag Team. With fame, fortune and critical acclaim, N2DEEP remained successful and did not receive the all too often seen "backlash" against white and Latino rap artists and one-hit wonders (read: Vanilla Ice, Mellow Man Ace). Instead of becoming jokes in the music business and among hip-hop fans, ...

It showcases Goapele's sultry, cascading voice with relatively sparse vocal arrangements and the contributions of producers such as Amp Live, Jeff Bhasker, Eric Krasno, and Mike Tiger, who help create a smooth, tasty mixture of soul, hip-hop, jazz, and occasional touches of other styles. ...
