Though Eric Wright succumbed to AIDS in 1995, it's a testimony to the strength of his vision that his legacy has endured through this third posthumous release. A founder member of the groundbreaking rap band NWA, Eazy E later feuded with his ... Full Descriptionfellow artists (even going so far as to simulate the murder of one of them, Dr. Dre, on 1993's "It's On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa"), and courted controversy with murderous jibes at the police and the F.B.I.
In what is also something of a tribute to the violent and creative impulses of its creator, IMPACT OF A LEGEND still sounds fresh today. Cuts such as "Cock the 9," "Ruthless Life," and "Still Fuckem" retain their dramatic impact, and in places E's rapping sounds almost musical--though not enough to obscure the ugliness of lines such as "A bitch is a bitch..." Although these tracks were all recorded in the mid-'90s, the sound is vintage rather than dated; the rap world may have caught up with Eazy E's vision, but it hasn't yet surpassed it.

Eazy-E Impact Of A Legend Songs Impact Of A Legend Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews For True Eazy Fans Only. Without the help of Dr. Dre behind the beats Eazy's music just lacks something. The actual music CD is average at best with no real "stand out" tracks at all. The hidden gem in this collection though is the bonus DVD. Not only does it have all of Eazy's videos and a documentary on the rap legend, but it has great bonus features like a video mix of past Ruthless artists including N.W.A, Bone Thugs N Harmony, MC Ren, The D.O.C., Above The Law and even J.J. Fad's classic "Supersonic." Also in this collection are 2 video games you can play on your home computer and a full cover comic book. If you are a fan of Eazy pick this up. The DVD and extras make up for the weak music CD and with over 3 hours of content on the DVD, it's well worth the price. Submitted by jmgprod (Chicago, IL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
dont litsen to that JMG dude that sayz for true fanz only dont listen to that jmg homo that sasyz for true eazy e fanz only. first of all, yella mostly banged out on all of eazy'z beatz since dre left, and to me, yella is a way better producer then dre, just like dj quik is too. but the problem on why they aint noticed is cuz they aint like dre, they dont leave they hood to go commercial and all hollywood like dre did, they jut remain to make music and stay true to they hood by livin there and aint trynin to go hollywwood. but i guarantee u if they wwere to try to go hollywood, then dre would be far behind them cuz they bang out waay better beatz but justs dont decide to try to get noticed cuz they gangsta and aint commericial or tryin to go commercial like dre.. but enough of that. these beatz are hard as hell, and only for havin 6 songz, u wont be dissapointed, true gangsta rap for all u compton lovin fanz, considerin compton is the birthplace of gangsta rap. and the dvd is off the hook, comin to u from real g'z perspective. songz like eazy 1,2,3 and still f*ck em will show u that eazy still hasnt lost his touch even considerin hez dead, RIP E, much luv, and if u love eazy e too, take it from me, this is the album for u, and if u aint got str8 off tha streetz of muthaphukkin compton, pick that upt oo, cuz that was his bests album ever.

Impact of Legend This dvd is a must have for anyone who likes dope music. 2skits and 6 never released before tracks and a lot of videos and interviews makes this a great package. F#ck tha Row, Cash money ,No Limit and the rest of these labels this is the real sh#t. Ruthless started this and the rest just jumped on the bandwagon. The Eazy videos on the dvd are great but the mix of all those different artists from the label makes it complete, it features Ren, Bone, ATL, Kokane just to name a few. Enough said just buy this!!!!!!!!!!!!! Submitted by a reviewer (almere, netherlands, europe) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
