(1 Customer Review)
COSAS DEL AMOR was nominated for a 1999 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Performance.
Here's a Latin-pop crossover anyone with two eyes could have seen coming a mile away. Enrique Iglesias is possessed of a vocal style that obviously has its roots in the rich, romantic Latin ballad tradition, but he's too much the modernist (and aspirant icon) to leave it at that. Buoyed by lush, carefully crafted arrangements, Iglesias incorporates elements of Anglo pop and even some contemporary R&B into COSAS DEL AMOR. From his suave demeanor on the album cover to his impassioned, sensual vocal style, Iglesias stands as something of a Latin Love God, and he doesn't need to sing in English to achieve international appeal among the romantically inclined (especially those of the female gender).
Recorded at Unique Recordings, New York, New York; Nadir, Madrid, Spain; TGN Studios, Munich, Germany; Andora Studios and Ocean Way, Hollywood, California.

| | Kylie Minogue Fever CD (2002) (Import) Bonus Tracks; Japan
Cosas Del Amor
$39.49 The 2002 enhanced Japan-only version features four additional tracks and two videos.
It's more than just journalistic shorthand to refer to Kylie Minogue as the European Madonna. She's been at it as long as the Material Girl, and her mix of sexy style and dance-pop sound is very much in league with that of her American counterpart. The catch here is that, while Minogue had previously only been a star in Europe, FEVER represents her American breakthrough. Not surprisingly, the sound of FEVER will appeal to fans of Madonna's MUSIC album. It's full of bubbly synths, amiably poppy melodies, club beats and sensual vocal stylings. If anything, Minogue comes off as slightly less hard-edged than you-know-who, more concerned with immersing herself in the songs and production than in projecting her larger-than-life personality. That kind of attitude can only aid in the making of a successful pop record, ...
| | Barbra Streisand Duets CD (2002) Remastered
Cosas Del Amor
$7.59 DUETS is a compilation of duets and contains a new duet recording with Barry Manilow, "I Won't Be The One Let Go".
Barbra Streisand's long and varied career is the stuff of legend, as the actress/director/songstress consistently takes chances, never content to rest on her laurels. DUETS, a collection of her collaborations, reflects this wide-sweeping talent, amassing tracks from every facet of Streisand's career. DUETS includes partnerships with stars of pop, country, soul, disco, rock, songwriters of a bygone era, and stars of Broadway and opera. It boasts a track from probably the most famous record to bear the same title (Frank Sinatra's DUETS), a live duet with Dorothy herself culled from a 1963 episode of the Judy Garland Show, and the underappreciated mellow-cool "Guilty" with Bee Gee Barry ...

| | Brewer's Row Jaw For The Job The Heart For The Sin CD (2008)
Cosas Del Amor
$17.69 Brewer\'s Row takes their name from an attic practice space just steps from a neighboring Pittsburgh brewery. Formed in the summer of 2005, the group sought to showcase a collection of Nicholas Hohman\'s music and to build and grow their original works. With the release of their first full-length album, \"The Jaw for the Job, The Heart for the Sin...\", the Steel Town natives\' roots are recognizable in a repertoire of bittersweet melodies bound by layered choruses. Taking influence from the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Patty Griffin, the resulting sound has been described as \"Rustbelt Americana\". Singer/songwriter, Nicholas Hohman shares the spotlight with sister Leah for a stirring mix of raw and sultry vocals, occasionally trading lines as in the emotionally captivating \"duet\", Stone Wall. Lending harmonies to the sibs\' soulful verses and leading on guitar, their father, Mark, brings tenured skill to the group with twice the years of rock and roll including a stint with sixties rock band, Shredded Wheat. Add to the mix Cousin Jarrett Sallows on drums and Travis Houck on bass and Brewer\'s Row proves fully-equipped to deliver some serious sound. What makes the group a standout, is their uniquely narrative driven lyrics - songs with specific storylines and all-inspiring meaning. Most are snapshots of dark moments in very real characters\' lives – characters that have admirable qualities and ugly qualities, but are interesting and endearing in the end. \"Three Letters\" is a story about the death of a soldier, told by his best friend. \"Send Me Away\" is about a child orphaned because of his mother\'s inability to support him. \"Benny\" is a story told from the viewpoint of a young man driven to crime and probably fighting his last fight. The beauty of the style of music is that even with elements of hopelessness, every song feels good to listen to, reviving, ...
