Primus' second release (but first studio album), 1990's FRIZZLE FRY, remains one of this psycho-noise-funk-freakout band's finest. Whereas most other funk-like hard rock bands at the time came off half-baked and silly, Primus were one of the genre's masters (bassist Les Claypool had done hard time in funk/jazz cover bands prior to Primus). Several songs on FRIZZLE FRY had already been issued on the in-concert SUCK ON THIS, but dazzling renditions of "John the Fisherman," "Ground Hog's Day," "Pudding Time," and "Harold of the Rocks" outdo the originals. Add to it such newer tracks as "To Defy the Laws of Tradition," "Too Many Puppies," and "Mr. Knowitall," and you have the Primus second classic in a row.

Primus: Les Claypool (vocals, acoustic bass guitar, bass guitar); Larry LaLonde (acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Tim Alexander (drums).

Alternative Press (7/02, p.98) - "...These reissues benefit from keen remastering, making it even more obvious that primus' crunch has influenced legions of nu-metal soldiers..." Well, you either like Primus or you don't, but if you do dig 'em and have only been exposed to more recent albums "Brown Album" or "Antipop" definitely check out the old stuff, including this album which in my opinion rules WAY more! Primus This is clearly one of the best albums that the band has produced. It has the inventiveness, talent and humor that made Primus the great band that they were. Submitted by a reviewer (Oklahoma City, OK, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Sounds like, well..... Primus? Primus is truly a band who have completely molded their own sound no band I've ever heard even touches close to this type of musical insanity other than Mr. Bungle. If you have an open mind I reccomend checking this out. The bass is insane. Submitted by srbrucker (kcmo) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Its Frizzle Fry by a Mile! This is their best album, no question. Sailing The SEas Of Cheese was good but this was way, way better. Too Many Puppies and Harold of the Rocks, and I personally liked Spegetti Western too, were 4 of their top 10 songs right there. Buy This Album. Frizzle Fry
$6.65 Primus' sixth full-length release solidifies the trio's direction as a funkabilly band driven by Les Claypool's slapping and flamenco (!) techniques on the six string bass. On the opening track, "The Return Of Sathington Willougby," ...

What could be more fun than a Primus album? How about an album of cover songs done Primus style? On RHINOPLASTY, Les and company attack a set of already fairly wacky songs and make them even wackier. Thus XTC's "Scissor Man" is full of Larry LaLonde's trademark disjointed guitar and on Metallica's "The Thing That Should Not Be," Les Claypool sounds like he's singing in a tin can.
Stanley Clarke's "Silly Putty" is a funky jazz-fusion workout that lets the group show off their considerable chops. The Police's "Behind My Camel," which was the oddest of the songs to begin with, is given the most faithful ...

| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Frizzle Fry
$6.79 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close ...

Frizzle Fry
$17.09 Casual observers might think Tears for Fears, the British duo that started out in the New Romantic/synth-pop vein in the early 1980s, broke up after their '89 album, THE SEEDS OF LOVE, on which the group's sound matured into a lush, Beatles-influenced, orchestral-pop approach. In fact, Roland Orzabal soldiered on under the TFF moniker after his partner Curt Smith flew the coop. Some 15 years down the line, the real Tears for Fears re-emerged on EVERYBODY LOVES A HAPPY ENDING, with Orzabal and Smith collaborating once again.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the sound bears much in common with SEEDS OF LOVE's ornate popcraft. The synthesizers and sequencers of the band's early days take a backseat to piano, thick orchestrations, George ...

$6.79 | | Stacy James Mayo This Side Of Heaven CD (2006)
Frizzle Fry
$16.45 Stacy James Mayo is a 27 year old woman who is living la vida loca... in a good way! From the start of her career as a young girl only 15 years of age, Stacy has managed to convince critics, judges, families, and friends from all over the nation, that she has it all. As a little girl dressing up and using a candle as her microphone to perform for her loving family, Stacy proved at an early age that she was a born performer, destined for her place on the stage. Her fame as a vocalist and dancer began when the opportunity arose for her to perform a lead role in her middle school's singing group, "Pride." Replacing a girl at the last minute who took ill, Stacy astonished the audience with her powerful, pure voice. The choir director, Julie Sheppard, summed up the event saying, "When Stacy opened her mouth and starting singing, the entire room went quiet and still. No one could believe that voice was coming out of that little body!" Stacy then began to sing all over the Ark-La-Tex area performing at everything from charity events, community gatherings, to churches and clubs. Stacy's next successful platform was in the pageants. She took her talent, determination, and confidence to the competitions at her young age of 15 years, and after winning Miss Texas High School 1997, went on to win the title of Miss Texas in 2001, and finally, finished as a semi-finalist in the Miss America Contest. She has since made over 375 appearances and performances as Miss Texas, and sang at such prestigious events as the 2002 Cotton Bowl, 2001 Texas Rangers Game, 2002 Houston Astros Game, and several NASCAR events in Ft. Worth, Texas. Stacy James has also established herself as not only a talented individual that commands the stage and the audience, but also as a down-to-earth, truly inspiring individual, whose influence touches all races, ages, and creeds. Stacy has dedicated her life to charity-work, specifically to the Alzheimer's Association of Texarkana, Texas, whose chapter Stacy's grandfather started. She has completed five cover CD's, and has put on several Dinner Theaters and assisted numerous Golf Tournaments, through which all the proceeds raised from her performances and entertainment were donated to the Alzheimer's Association. With these efforts, Stacy has raised over $20,000 for Alzheimer's. Hitting the studio in 2003, Stacy James teamed up with S.M.A.R.T. Productions and producer Greg White, and began working on her first original album, "Gravity." She surrounded herself with the best musicians and songwriters of the Four States area, and the finished result is truly astonishing. The album features a mixture of emotions ...
