Chakra's Dream: Yoga CD

Chakra's Dream: Yoga is designed to soothe and relax during the practice of yoga. The album is instrumental and very docile, although some tracks are propelled by "funky" drum machine rhythms, and is clearly indebted to synthesizer pioneers Tangerine Dream. There's more to it than just synths and occasional drums though; guitar, harp, and piano also play their parts in Chakra's Dream. The ultimate goal of yoga is to transcend both the mind and the body. In order to do this, the mind and body must first achieve a state of balance. Once this happens, the ego will be released and a deep meditation may begin. This is the ancient path to spiritual enlightenment, inner peace, and physical well-being.
YOGA is a collection of eight compositions that can be used to stimulate a yogic meditation. Tracks such as "Time In" and "Warm Glow" use smooth, legato keyboard sounds to cleanse the spirit and relax the mind. Other pieces such as "Ocean of Meditation," "Shoreline," and the opening track, "Floral Drift" use water as a leitmotif. On these tracks, waves gently crash upon the shore then recede back into the vastness of the ocean. The rolling waves have a soothing, even hypnotic, effect. Overall, YOGA seeks to restore the inner perfection that all humans posses by promoting deep, cosmic contemplation.
