PHENOMENAL This album is incredible and I would reccommend it to anyone, whether you listen to gospel or not. And those that currently don't listen may start listening after experiencing this album. Mary Mary is made up of two young sisters who write and sing together in a style that melds pop, R&B, and a touch of hip-hop with a spiritually oriented lyrical message. Their 2000 debut turned many heads, but the follow-up INCREDIBLE proved to be the one that broke the duo in a major way. The chirpy synths and bubbly groove of "God Bless" meld perfectly with the optimistic nature of the lyrics, perfectly illustrating the template with which Mary Mary meshes the corporeal with the spiritual. And when Erica and Tina take on the harmonically sophisticated climes of the Stevie Wonder-penned "You Will Know," the pair's musical smarts really come to the fore.
Contains 4 hidden tracks following "Give It Up Let It Go."

| | Karen Clark Sheard 2nd Chance CD (2002)
Dorinda Clark-Cole CD music
$8.55 Although her 1997 debut FINALLY KARENŕLIVE! was an impressive showing of Karen-Clark Sheard's in-concert prowess, 2ND CHANCE ably demonstrates that the former member of The Clark Sisters is an equally formidable vocal talent within the confines of a recording studio. Inspired by surviving a near-death experience while undergoing a surgical procedure in 2000, Clark-Sheard imbues these 13 cuts with a mixture of inspiration, grace, and gratitude. Like fellow gospel crossover queen Yolanda Adams (who appears on the thumping duet "Brand New Day"), this former musical prodigy enlists plenty of secular help in giving her message a contemporary spin. Serving as the tent-pole for this secular-spiritual revival is "Higher Ground," an all-star summit featuring Adams, Kim Burrell, Dorinda Clark, Mary Mary, and Missy Elliott.
Karen Clark-Sheard also benefits from Elliott expanding beyond her hip-hop roots by lending her production talents to the aforementioned collaboration as well as the equally impressive "Only Call On Jesus," a spiritual call to arms loaded with sharply honed beats. Notable names from the world of Christian music lending their production talents include singer-songwriter Donald Lawrence (who penned the poignant "If I Can't Say A Word" and was a major contributor to Clark-Sheard's debut), Richard Smallwood, and Walter Milsap.

| | Cece Winans Throne Room CD (2003)
Dorinda Clark-Cole songs
$8.99 Legacy of an awesome gospel family, CeCe Winans has never been one to rest on her laurels. As half of a superstar duo with her brother BeBe, she lent her versatile voice to some of the more memorable R&B/gospel hybrids of the '80s and '90s. A solo artist since the mid-'90s, she has careened from traditional gospel to straight-secular contemporary R&B and more. She veers in yet another direction with THE THRONE ROOM, a breathy collection of lushly produced, accessible, unconditionally inspirational pop ballads with the lightest of R&B touches in a style equal parts Enya, Celine Dion, Karyn White, and Leonard Bernstein.
THE THRONE ROOM opens with a lush instrumental overture before Winans's vocals sneak in on the fetching "Jesus, You're Beautiful." "You're So Holy" lies somewhere between new age composition and holiday carol, and Cece's vocals slide gracefully with the subtlest of power on the Broadway-ish "By Thy Blood." Winans cuts the album into two parts with distinct titles, but other than a slightly more soulful tilt, not counting the dance-floor "Hallelujah Praise" the gentle, lulling sound remains constant throughout THE THRONE ROOM, continuing ...
| | Kurt Carr One Church CD (2004)
Dorinda Clark-Cole album
$8.99 The opening track, "Reign," at first seems a familiar contemporary gospel tune (a la Kirk Franklin), but then the jazzy keyboard lines meld with swirling pop synthesizers for an original touch. On "God Great God," Carr proposes throwing out all denominations (hence "one church") with ardent shouts filled with passion and glory. Rarely afraid to travel unknown roads, Carr asks "Have you ever heard an accordion in church?" on "Psalm 68 (Let Our God Arise)," before throwing in a Spanish guitar for good measure. The resultant track is a magnificent song that switches directions for a truly rapturous feel. Kurt Carr is one of the most exciting voices in modern gospel, and ONE CHURCH captures his flair.
Kurt Carr, in his ascendance to a position near the pinnacle of the gospel world, has embraced music and thought from varied aspects of the world, a trait suffused throughout his polychromatic ...
| | Dorinda Clark-Cole Live From Houston: The Rose Of Gospel CD (2005)
Dorinda Clark-Cole CD music
$9.19 Recorded live in St. Agnes Baptist Church in Houston, ROSE OF GOSPEL captures Dorinda Clark-Cole doing what she does best: ministering for the Lord with her powerful set of pipes. Clark-Cole is backed by a full band here, and while there are modern stylistic flourishes (such as the Miami electro-dance vibe on "Great is the Lord" and the hip-hop-flavored funk of "Work to Do"), the singer is at her best on old-school gospel rave-ups like "So Many Times." The sheer force and range of Clark-Cole's voice make ...

Dorinda Clark-Cole album
$18.55 After the success of “My London Friends” that saw a collaboration with Nathan Haines and a young jazz quintet. Arision Recordings is proud to announce the reissue of this now collectible album by our very own Italian piano maestro Marco Di Marco. This album was hard enough to get hold of when it was originally released. In the early nineties its popularity grew to a point just as the availability grew scarcer. But here it is in all its original glory available on LP and for the first time ever, on CD.The Living Room in Paris was the setting for this recording exactly 31 years ago. It took place over two days after the trio spent time working on Marco’s wonderfully ...
