The year 1973 turned out to be prolific for the Detroit Emeralds, who released not one but two of what many would consider to be their finest albums since their days on the Ric-Tic imprint during the heydays of Motown. The first half of this two-fer collection, I'm in Love with You, isn't the strongest of the two albums, although it does provide for some lively moments, including "So Long," "You're Getting Too Smart" (a nominee for a lost soul classic if there ever were one), and "Whatcha Gonna Wear Tomorrow." The extended version of the Emeralds' classic "Feel the Need in Me" is alone worth the price of admission for soul enthusiasts. Kudos to Westbound for taking the time to reissue two nuggets of lost Detroit soul. ~ Rob Theakston

Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars)
2 good albums of Detroit Emeralds, includes A Tom Molton Mix In this cd you find the complete original 1977 "Feel The Need" album where it is on track 10, (A Tom Moulton Mix) of music "Feel The Need In Me", with timing 7:03.
This remaster, plays well, but people on Label could be made it with better quality sound (are lost the noise of the good quality vinyl sound), considering that this compilattion are probably made from original Westbound Master Tapes.
Anyway, an cd to buy for Detroit Emeralds music colectors. Submitted by rafael_t1961 (Lisbon - Portugal) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
