Prince Valium album
$14.59 As a director or as a musician, Rob Zombie shows no signs of closing the door on either of his creative endeavors anytime soon. Returning with his first album since 2006's Educated Horses, after several delays following this record's completion in 2008 -- due to his work on Halloween 2, lack of promotion, and time spent shopping for a new label after 18 years of recording for Geffen -- Zombie has since gone on to say that the songs on Hellbilly Deluxe 2 were his easiest to write. This could be because it was his first outing to include help from his bandmates (longtime touring comrades guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D, and drummer Tommy C) but it's probably more attributed to the fact that making songs like these is old hat by now. "Jesus Frankenstein," "Sick Bubblegum," and "Mars Needs Women" are the same schlocky grooves that made up his five previous solo records and six White Zombie records. His trademark "yeah" and monotone hoedown growl are still front and center, the B-horror movie references are still plentiful (Frankenstein, ...

| | Demon Hunter World Is A Thorn CDs (2010) (Import) With DVD; Deluxe Edition
Prince Valium music CDs
$28.69 The World Is a Thorn is the sound of Jesus leading his flock down a musical path that was built upon the foundations of hedonism and power (as well as a general fondness for the occult) and staging a coup. Rebellion can go both ways, and Seattle's Demon Hunter is as embarrassed as anyone about Christian rock's well-earned reputation for conjuring up lifeless, cookie-cutter slabs of faith-based treacle that carry the weight of a fortune cookie prediction. The band's fifth full-length offering is both composed and volatile. It's a carefully plotted collection of staccato, melodic aggro-hymns that owe as much to early-'90s grunge as they do modern, 21st century metalcore, with lyrics that dabble in the same Lord of the Rings-inspired, violent cliches as do their secular neighbors ("I see the weight of hollow death residing in you/Take now your final breath"), but with an outcome that always yields to redemption over damnation. Metal purists needn't be ...

| | Saxon Destiny CD (1988) (Import) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Prince Valium album
$19.49 Another album, another flop and the members of Saxon decided to make another return to more commercial territory. Destiny is typical late 80's sleek pop metal of the lowest quality. Opening with a cover of Christopher Cross' "Ride Like the Wind" was surprising at best, and the album's only decent offering, "Where The Lightning Strikes" follows as track number two. Brave souls might want to continue beyond this point, but only the strongest will survive the atrocious, Titanic-based "S.O.S." ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
Digitally remastered and expanded edition of the British Metal band's 1988 album including bonus tracks. Saxon's melodic ninth studio album, Destiny, saw the band go for a more polished route than their grittier, New Wave Of British Heavy Metal roots. Opening with what, ...
| | Nickelback All The Right Reasons CD (2005)
Prince Valium CD music
$14.45 As always, frontman Chad Kroeger's gritty voice remains Nickelback's calling card, and his emotive singing carries every tune, most notably the nostalgic "Photograph" and "Far Away," a tender, echo-laden ballad. Kroger has never met a guitar effect that he didn't like, as evidenced by the revved-up "Next Contestant," which relates the, ahem, difficulties of having a beautiful girlfriend. Though ALL THE RIGHT REASONS is slightly more eclectic than the group's past releases, it's unmistakably a Nickelback outing, and fans of the ...
