You Are Somebody! album
$9.49 In addition to energized versions of such treasured Christmas songs as "Go Tell It on the Mountain" and "Silent Night," Franklin & the Family contribute several non-traditional songs that explore the depth of God's love and the Christian basis for the holiday. "Now Behold the Lamb," for example, is a ballad that testifies to the truth of salvation, and features stirring ensemble singing, strong solo vocalists, and plenty of enthusiastic exclamations. The deeply funky "Jesus Is the Reason for the Season" kicks things up a notch with its bumping rhythm and infectious chorus. With its mix of old and new musical styles and its impassioned performances, CHRISTMAS is sure ...
| | Ultimate Bee Gees: The 50th Anniversary Collection CDs (2009)
You Are Somebody! CD music
$20.15 Functioning as something of a replacement for the 2001 collection Their Greatest Hits: The Record, The Ultimate Bee Gees covers much of the same ground as that double-disc set, albeit in not quite so linear a fashion. The Record marched through its 40 tracks chronologically, opening with the stately baroque Beatlesque pop of the '60s and then winding through the '70s, whereas this opens with ...

| | Chris Brown Graffiti CDs (2009) Deluxe Edition
You Are Somebody! songs
$14.34 Most of Graffiti is a natural progression for Chris Brown. Like many young cred-seeking male singers who have just exited their teenage years, Brown emphasizes womanizing and hedonism and balances it out with a couple clean and empty ballads, as well as a couple relatively lighthearted Europop numbers. A handful of songs deal with his relationship with Rihanna, as well as the fallout from his assault of her. ~ Andy Kellman
Most of Graffiti -- that is, the songs that do not detail what ex-girlfriend Rihanna and the rest of the world have done to him -- is a natural progression for Chris Brown. Like many young cred-seeking male singers who have just exited their teenage years, Brown clumsily emphasizes womanizing and hedonism and balances it out with a couple clean and empty ballads. Out of this portion of the album, only a couple songs leave a lasting impression, and when they do, the silly things that come out of Brown's mouth tend to be the reason; take "As stingy as you are, I think you ready," part of "Take My Time"'s chorus and hopefully no woman's idea of an effective bedroom line. A two-track patch of gloopy and gawky Europop, where he's on slightly better behavior, is at least more tolerable than ...
| | Very Best Of Michael Mcdonald CD (1986)
You Are Somebody! album
$13.59 Digitally remastered by Dan Hersch and Bill Inglot (Digiprep).
A solid collection that features all of McDonald's greatest hits from the early '80s. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
For too long, there wasn't a Michael McDonald compilation available domestically. Rhino/Warner Archives' 2001 release The Very Best of Michael McDonald corrects that situation, offering a generous 16 tracks, including duets and a previous unreleased version of Higher Ground. The collection concentrates solely on his solo recordings for Warner/Reprise, which means it ends in 1993 and doesn't include anything from his long-delayed 2000 album. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, because McDonald stopped having hits in the late '80s,
16 tracks including all hits from his own albums, movie soundtracks, ...
| | Preacher's Wife CD (1996) Original Soundtrack
You Are Somebody! CD music
$8.99 THE PREACHER'S WIFE was nominated for a 1988 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. "I Believe In You And Me" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
That renaissance gal is at it again. As in THE BODYGUARD, Whitney Houston does double duty as star and soundtrack provider for THE PREACHER'S WIFE. Don't look for her to be sticking to the commercial pop-R&B sound that served her so well on her last soundtrack album, though. THE PREACHER'S WIFE finds Houston reaching back to her roots in gospel, and collaborating with some stellar gospel artists, including her mother, Cissy.
Several cuts here, including "Hold On, Help Is On The Way" and "I Go To The Rock," find the soulful Georgia Mass Choir supporting Houston in her return to the fold. On "He's All Over Me," Houston is joined by gospel ...

| | Karl Rucker Over The Rainbow CD (2000)
You Are Somebody! music CDs
$16.45 Karl Rucker`s bewildered parents watched their progeny bang out passages from beethoven`s symphonies on the family piano at the age of four in their comfortable home in chicago, and realized that their son would not follow the path of his parents-both doctors-into a stable profession.Little Karl`s talents quickly spread to trumpet, piano, drums, guitar and bass throughout his childhood until, at the age of fifteen, he found himself in a band(THE SPECIALS), signed to a label, with recordings set up for his first album. This led Karl travelling the country on a package tour, often with the likes of the jackson 5. he went on to play bass with the chi-lites and many other R&B bands of the era. Moving to Hawaii at the age of nineteen,to play with Jesse Morgan and later Los Angeles, karl has toured and recorded with numerous artists including: Diana Ross,Donna Summer, Chaka Kahn, The Butts Band(formerly THE DOORS),Long John Baldry, Cher, Ike&Tina Turner, The Village People, Deborah Harry, Irene Cara, Steven Stills, Tanya Tucker, Brenda Russell, and Jonathan Cain(JOURNEY),He was also band leader writer and producer for NINA HAGEN, with whom he worked for more than ten years. Karl also became one of the favorite "back ...
| | The Sense Offenders CD (2008)
You Are Somebody! songs
$16.45 Eric Hage of the Metroland says of the Sense Offenders:Albany band the Sense Offenders play ballsy, macho rock that is lead by the vocal growl and songwriting sensibilities of the undeniably talented Tom McWatters. "Razor's Edge" opens up the album with an ominous rumble that builds into a booty shaking, hard rock scrum upheld by the slashing power chords of guitarist Eric Halder and the precision clatter of drummer John Brodeur. But it's McWatters' feral, bluesy howl that truly marks this territory as serious business. "Loaded with my Love" mixes things up a bit by offering more of a rock&roll, not hard rock, attack that lands somewhere closely in the neighborhood of 1970's Elvis Costello or Rockpile. Mostly though, this album is supreme "cock rock", finely executed with balls to match. Few people could drop lines like "it's cold outside so come in soon/join the revival in my bedroom"(from "Stiff Breeze") and be taken seriously. But McWatters, with that dirty howl and all of that heavy artillery behind him(and some righteous organ), pulls it off quite well. Sure, this is dead serious "rawk", but one also gets the sense that the Sense Offenders are having a whole lot of fun living it up like Free or Bad Company did back in the day.-Erik Hage , Metroland, Albany NYOur bio:The Sense Offenders are a favorite on the albany club scene, thanks to the strong soulful vocals of Tom McWatters, and a commitment to performances that leave rooms full of tired, sweaty bodies in their wake. Behind McWatters is a group of sought-after, multitasking musicians: his brother Matt McWatters, a talented songwriter and singer in his own right, on bass; the fiery guitar leads of Eric Halder, ...

They are the praise and worship team at Mashiach Temple in Louisville, Kentucky where Moreh Darryl Turpin is the Shepherd.
