"dont mess with texas" It must be true. What they say about most people from Texas, that is. Silly girl you must not have given it a chance, I'm sure. Stick to music that you can grasp.
The listener is in no way left bored and unsatisfied, unless the listener is a complete moron who can't appreciate beautiful music.
You put in this CD and its like a musical dose of tranquility and beauty. It's amazing in short, and I have nothing more to say. It was just really disappointing to see that someone didn't like this. They're clearly misunderstood. Submitted by a reviewer (Chicago, IL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Mood specific As much as don’t want to like this third album from Seattle’s weepiest band, I do. Being also that they are media darlings, I don’t want to write about them, but I must! Like a somber pied piper, they have lured me into their morose web of lush musical arrangements, melding pianos, guitars and strings like an Irish Folk tale. I can’t help getting lugubrious and staring out the window at gray clouds contemplating love and loss and the distance between us… Each new listen reveals yet another undiscovered moment ringing true, striking out in its sincere and hushed honesty, inciting a raw perspective leading to a grueling, visceral insight, that is surely as sad as the violin mourning in the background. The five piece never lets their audience relish in one moment of hope or happiness but rather holds their head under the weather of such heavy sadness that the rain would become a narcissistic endeavor were it not so entrancing. I’m no sadist, but I can’t help listening. It’s like driving past a car wreck and staring. Submitted by sydhartha (Seattle) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Carissa's BORING I bought carissa with high expectations. Unfortunately, this CD totally lacks melody. There is almost no rhythmic interest. The listener is left bored and unsatisfied. There is a total lack of inspiration. Why did they bother to put out such a lousy CD? Submitted by a reviewer (austin, texas) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.

Songs About Leaving songs
$11.79 "Bellingham's The Pale raise the bar on local bands with their thoughtful, dynamic approach to indie rock. Melodically infective lyrics explore the science of sensitivity. Indie drums and guitar meld excellently with lo-fi vocals and loungy keys. "-M.Myers, KEXP Seattle."Employing dynamic swings in tempo and volume, the Pale gravitate toward the prettier end of the sonic spectrum, with snaky melodies atop patient, sometimes dramatically intensifying rhythm tracks. ...

$12.89 "Glasseye's style can't be boxed into a genre, but perhaps it is creating its own- a sort of evangelistic rock orchestra gone wrong." - Knoxville Metropulse"Revivalist rock and rollers whose humor is eclipsed only by their uncanny ability to write a tune."-Detroit Metro Times"Gloomy Genius" -Sponic Ezine "Modern Folk Music at its finest" -Tablet Magazine "Reverend Glasseye (has) a sound that can be revered by punkers, indie rockers, and country fans alike."-Illinois Entertainer Boston's Reverend Glasseye has often been labeled Dark Salvation Music; cautionary tales filled with American Superstition and human frailty. With the pomp and production of some unclean orchestra, their live performances have become notorious spectacles, with a cult-like following of well dressed, flower wielding celebrators. Consider this Post Romantic Revivalist Glam, or perhaps simply Gospel Cabaret Punk. Reverend Glasseye is the brain child of Adam Glasseye (ex- Slim Cessna's Auto Club), Timothy Maher (drums, also ex-Slim Cessna's), and Piet Masone (Vocal Harmonic Superman and stone faced gospel organist). The group has been rounded out by the addition of Paul Dilly on the Upright Bass and Lead Guitar, Cassandra Lomas on the Trombone and Tuba and Kevin Corzett on ...
