| | Green Pajamas Narcotic Kisses CD Green Pajamas Discography of CDs
You can measure the quality of a band by the quality of their odds-and-sods collections. Narcotic Kisses culls compilation tracks, rare singles, and unreleased outtakes by the Green Pajamas. The material dates from the group's second phase of activity, starting with 1997's Strung Behind the Sun (thus working as an addendum to the pre-1997 singles collection Indian Winter). These are not demos, but finished songs that for one reason or another did not end up on one of the group's regular releases. Play it to someone who only has limited knowledge of Jeff Kelly and friends' discography and it will pass for a genuine new album. At least two-thirds of these 16 songs hit the Green Pajamas' higher average. "I've Got a Crush on You," "There Are the Best Times," "The Demon Lover," "Deadly Nightshade," and "The Night Wind" go higher than that. You never have the impression of listening to unrelated tracks, which goes to show how much Kelly's vision of his band is precise (although not limited or restrictive). Lazy fans and newcomers alike will find satisfaction in these Beatles-inspired melodies and lightly psychedelic arrangements. This album was first released in a limited run of 300 LPs in November 2000 before being expanded and reissued on CD in June 2002. ~ François Couture

Narcotic Kisses songs
$13.75 At first glance, Halford's entry into the crowded holiday market looks like a parody. Heavy metal and Christmas make for strange bedfellows, and WINTER SONGS' pastoral cover art -- which depicts Rob Halford staring wistfully (with a goatee and shades) into a soft, snowy pine forest -- screams Spinal Tap. That said, the Judas Priest frontman approaches yuletide standards like "We Three Kings" and "What Child Is This?" with the same conviction ...
| | Tom Waits Glitter And Doom Live CDs (2009) Digipak
Narcotic Kisses album
$14.38 Glitter and Doom Live, a double-disc set, marks Tom Waits' third live effort in his nearly 40-year career, each one summing up his career to the point of its release. The first, Nighthawks at the Diner issued in 1975 on Asylum, is regarded by many as one of the greatest live albums of all time. The second was Big Time, released during his tenure at Island in 1986. The musical performances on disc one of Glitter and Doom Live were culled from Waits' historic sold-out tour of the U.S. and Europe. He compiled and sequenced the set himself, intending to make them sound like a single show. The material leans, understandably, on his recordings with the Anti label. There are stellar performances here, ...

Narcotic Kisses songs
$37.25 Though the band only made three studio albums before disbanding in 1999, the Verve still proved to be one of the most compelling rock groups to emerge from Britain in the '90s. THIS IS MUSIC: THE SINGLES 92-98 upholds the claim, and gives 14 prime examples of the ensemble's sharp songcraft and riveting sonic sweep. Powered by the rumbling of bassist Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury, and characterized by Nick McCabe's swirling guitar-scapes and Richard Ashcroft's hypnotic vocals, the Verve created a hugely expansive sound ...
