The brainchild of Pedro D-Lita and Mauricio Pacheco, Stereo Maracana throws Brazilian major key chordal movement over hip-hop, funk, and jungle beats. Throw in some old school drum programming, live percussion, and socially conscious lyrics, and you've got yourself a dance unit that might just have some staying power.
In their first CD, the group from Rio, Stereo Marcanã, makes an uncommon sound mixing elements of hip-hop, funk and afro-beat with electronic programming and capoeira percussion. Headed by the duo of musicians Pedro D-Lita and Maurício Pacheco, the band lays down its concern for social integration, and gives its message to the masses, strengthening its rebellious alliance.
