Known for their consistently soothing, angelic music, husband-and-wife duo Randy and Pamela Copus set out on their New Age travels in 1989, when they put together FLUTE FOR THOUGHT, a series of solo flute compositions inspired by Debussy, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Mozart. The home recordings achieved strong word of mouth reaction in the Dallas area, and soon the couple was turning to Greek myths for their 1991 release, WINGS. (The name 2002 has less to do with the year than with the idea of the two participants standing on either side of infinity.)
THE SACRED WELL incorporates tracks from four previous albums, in addition to two previously unreleased songs, "Full Circle" and the lovely "Stardust." Rounding out the album are two songs from Real Music compilations, "City of Peace" and "Kindred Spirit," which was composed for a tribute album to the late New Age harpist Hilary Stagg.

Sacred Well album
$13.45 If there was ever a recording created for placement on the syndicated Musical Starstreams space music show, this galaxy of pretty but meandering rays of light is it. The jacket photo shows husband and wife team Pamela and Randy Copus with harp and acoustic guitar, but there are other softhearted sounds at work here creating the celestial tapestry as well. The title track blends grand piano eloquence with guitar, flute, and harp along with rushes of breathy, angelic ...

Sacred Well CD music
$13.39 Finally, Pamela and Randy Copus release an album in the year they named their group after. Favorites on Billboard's new age chart, they go deep-sea diving on this sweeping, often majestic musical exploration of the ocean. There's not much dance of dolphins at play in the music (i.e., expect more caressing atmosphere and meditative melodies than anything too innovative or exciting), but they do evoke a bit of the classic Enya sound. On the opening track, "The Ocean Dreams," they blend a synth footprint pattern with a soothing flute and twangy acoustic guitar, all somewhat muted to give off the murky effect of bright sunlight probing beneath the darkening water. "The Sound of Still Water" ...
| | Lionel Richie Encore CD (2004) (Import) Bonus Tracks; United Kingdom
Sacred Well MP3 Album
$11.99 This collection of live material from U.S. pop music artist Lionel Richie includes such popular songs as "Brick House" and "Dancing On The Ceiling."
Two years after its release outside the U.S. and five months after the appearance of Lionel Richie's modestly selling seventh studio album, Just for You, Island Records belatedly presents an abridged domestic version of Richie's 2002 live album, Encore, recorded in May 2001 at Wembley Arena in England. The international version of the disc had 16 tracks, among them "Tender Heart" and "Don't Stop the Music," both from Renaissance, Richie's sixth studio album, which he was promoting at the time. They have been excised from the American version of Encore, as have the international version's final two tracks, "Goodbye" and "To Love a Woman," both duets with Enrique Iglesias. Remaining are 12 performances of Richie hits from the 1980s along with two Commodores hits of the '70s, "Brick House" and "Three Times a Lady." Early on, Richie says he will be playing songs old and new, but the listener to the U.S. edition of the album will wonder where the new songs are. Richie is an engaging cheerleader of a frontman, endlessly encouraging his already enthusiastic listeners with such interjections as "C'mon!," "Yeah!," and "Let's go!" The audience is content to sing along on the familiar material, with or without Richie to join them. ("You don't need me," he declares at one point.) No doubt this show was more enjoyable for Richie ...
| | Lionel Richie Definitive Collection CD (2003) Remastered
Sacred Well music CDs
$10.69 (MP3 Available for Download) The first pressings of THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION included a bonus disc featuring rare tracks.
THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION, though not as thorough as the excellent two-disc set GOLD (released a year prior), is a handy overview of the Commodores' career, beginning with 1974's "Machine Gun" and concluding with 1985's "Nightshift." The only Top Ten R&B hits not included here are "Sail On," and a couple of later '80s cuts, so all the big funk jams ("Too Hot ta Trot," "Brick House," "Lady [You Bring Me Up],") and ballads ("Zoom," "Easy," "Three Times a Lady") are indeed included. This set also scores a little extra by including one of the band's best album cuts, 1976's "Girl, I Think the World About You," which has been left off at least 90-percent of all Commodores comps.
Although Lionel Richie was AWOL for most of the '90s, he's still a pop culture force to be reckoned with, and THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION ably supports this assertion. Between his work as a frontman for The Commodores, songwriter for other artists, and as a solo act, Richie became the only songwriter to score nine chart-toppers in nine consecutive years. Aside from Kenny Rogers' "Lady" and USA For Africa's "We Are The World," (co-written with Michael Jackson), all the other #1's are here: "Endless Love" (with Diana Ross), "Truly," "Hello," "All Night Long (All Night)," "Say You, Say Me," "Still" and "Three Times A Lady." That's not even ...

Sacred Well songs
$13.49 For their eighth effort, 2002 (Pamela and Randy Copus) dedicates this album to the power of love. In a style reminiscent of Vangelis or Enya, 2002 constructs universes of perfect bliss and complete tranquility, free of conflict or negativity. On THIS MOMENT NOW, glittering, otherworldly electronic elements are pleasantly ...
