(4 Customer Reviews)
In the spirit of modern bands such as P.O.D., Papa Roach and System Of A Down, Project 86 wave the flag of heavy music, incorporating elements of classic metal, punk, and hard rock. TRUTHLESS HEROES follows the story of an anonymous hero facing the harsh realities of modern society. Part social commentary and part satire, the tale offers a protagonist who faces all the pitfalls of the media's skewed version of values. "Bottom Feeder" bears the closest resemblance to a rock ballad, while the majority of the 17 tracks on TRUTHLESS HEROES lead the listener on a high-energy aural assault.
Acclaimed Southern California metal-core combo Project 86 make a bold and brilliant leap forward with their extraordinary third album. Atlantic. 2002.
Recorded at Cello Studios and Grandmaster Recording, Hollywood, California.
Project 86: Randy Torres (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Steven Dail (vocals, guitar, bass); Andrew Schwab (vocals); Alex Albert (drums).
Additional personnel: Mark Salomon, Holland Greco (vocals).
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.CMJ (10/14/02, p.26) - "...P86 takes shots at the mass culture audience, one that co-opts and embraces art as quickly as it discard it....Nice work..."s Project 86 Truthless Heroes Songs Truthless Heroes Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) AWESOME This is by far the best album I've ever heard. Little Green Men is the best song. It's awesome that these guys are christian! P.O.D.'s Satelite came close but this is better! An AWESOME buy! BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!! Good Not as good as their first two. Project took a different twist with their sound on this. I like it and think it's good but I'm more of a fan of their hardcore, in your face sound. I like how they're challenging people's taste in culture and such and the TruthlessHeroes site is awesome. Only reason I'm giving it four stars is because I prefer the other albums to this, but I still got it in my collection and listen to occasionally. Andrew's lyrics are still strong though. $11.15 "Metropolis Part I," a track featured on Dream Theater's breakthrough, IMAGES AND WORDS, left many progressive rock enthusiasts with what seemed like another unfinished chapter in a story never to be completed. Seven years and five albums later, Dream Theater returned to its majestic beginnings with METROPOLIS PART II--SCENES FROM A MEMORY. Keyboard virtuoso Jordan Rudess, who was a logical replacement for Derek Sherinian, revitalized the band's sound. Rudess's collaboration with guitarist John Petrucci and drummer Mike Portnoy stole the attention of Dream Theater fans ...

Truthless Heroes
$13.29 This album is actually the first collection of "new" '50s-era Vincent recordings to appear since the leather-clad rocker's sad demise in 1971. It includes a wealth of previously unreleased studio tracks and newly discovered live performances, as well as home demos and acetates previously only available in poor quality or on unauthorised releases. The latter give a valuable insight into Vincent's creative process whereas the vibrant live recordings illustrate just why he has been a cult figure in the world of rock 'n' roll for so long.
The four live Big "D" Jamboree radio show tracks from 1958 are the obvious highlights because recordings of Gene's stage act are pretty thin on the ground. The demo for "In My Dreams" marks the first studio recording by Gene with a new Blue Caps line-up featuring legendary guitarist Johnny Meeks. Other ...
