This 1962 effort has been reissued a couple of times with a couple of titles, but the bottom line is that it's one of the best-ever pop-rock Christmas albums, right up there with A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR YOU FROM PHIL SPECTOR and the Beach Boys' CHRISTMAS ALBUM. It is a bit more traditional than either of those (translation: It rocks out only sporadically), but given the Season's vocal approach, there's something ineffably and wonderfully weird about hearing them sing, say, "The Excelsis Deo Medley"; this could easily be a bunch of Benedectine monks on helium. In any case, it's all but impossible to resist their great Jersey doo-wop take on "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" or a version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" done a la "Big Girls Don't Cry." Essential stuff.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.
The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, Bob Long.

4 Seasons' Christmas Album music CDs
$8.29 What could the poet, who has been called the spokesman of his generation, possibly have to offer on a third greatest-hits compilation?
Quite a lot, and by listening to these selections you realize the depth of Bob Dylan's musical inventory. This eclectic, quirky collection provides his best literate epics ("Brownsville," written with Sam Shepard), enigmatic gems ("Tangled Up In Blue" from the brilliant BLOOD ON THE TRACKS), masterful gospel classics (STREET LEGAL's "Changing Of The Guard"), effective political narratives ("Hurricane") and timeless pop classics ("Forever Young" and "Knockin' On Heaven's Door"). For the most part, these rock, folk, gospel and blues cuts are selected from less celebrated albums like OH MERCY, DOWN IN THE GROOVE and KNOCKED OUT LOADED. They should serve as entreaties to return to those overlooked treasures.
With all this album's pedigree, the unlikely show-stopper is the previously unreleased "Dignity"--it causes one to pause and note the continuing awesomeness of Dylan's craft and limitless lyrical talent. This album serves as a lesson to all aspiring singer-songwriters. GREATEST HITS, VOLUME 3, indeed--from an artist whose every song is complex perfection.
Personnel: Bob Dylan (vocals, guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, piano, keyboards); Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Brent Mydland (vocals, background vocals); Ronee Blakley (vocals); Brendan O'Brien (guitar, keyboards); Daniel Lanois (guitar, percussion); Steven Soles (guitar, background vocals); ...

4 Seasons' Christmas Album CD music
$22.35 It's somehow fitting that the first Clash collection to be released in the wake of frontman Joe Strummer's December 2002 death should be the closest anyone's ever come to a truly definitive non-box-set anthology. The two discs essentially work chronologically, starting out with a dose of old-school UK punk from the days when the Clash were messengers of political fury and icon-shattering rock & roll fire (the raging "White Riot" and gloriously snotty "I'm So Bored with the U.S.A."). We can hear the incorporation of reggae rhythms with "White Man in Hammersmith Palais" and Junior Murvin's street-fighting tale "Police & Thieves," and the beginnings of the Clash's ...
