Released in 1993, THE SECURITY OF ILLUSION signaled a rebirth of sorts for Canadian prog rock popsters Saga, as earlier members Jim Gilmour (keyboards) and Steve Negus (drums) were welcomed back into the fold -- for the first time since 1985's BEHAVIOUR. And as evidenced by the music, the result of the reunion returned the group straight back to their heady early-'80s period, especially on the downright vicious rockers "Mind Over Matter" and "Stand Up," as well as the percussive-heavy album closer, "Without You." Instead of being influenced by what was going on in the rock world circa this time period (here's a hint...well, whatever, nevermind), Saga stick to their guns on THE SECURITY OF ILLUSION, and come up with a release that nearly managed to out-rock their Canadian competitor at the time, Rush.

| Security Of Illusion Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) The best remaster in the collection I bought this CD when it first came out in 1993. I loved the songs, but the sound quality was just awful. After buying most of the remasters, I really thought the remaster for "Security Of Illusion" would be a little better than the original. After listening to it, I was wrong. All of the re-issue discs sound great, but this one is proof that the remastering job is absolutely superb. Saga at its ususal best A Saga fan since 1981 when ON THE LOOSE was a hit on radio. Then started buying vinyl. Couldn't wait for each new release. After going to CDs I have just begun to up grade my collection. This from 2001 is amazing stuff and not so different from the Saga I have known and loved all along. Have both their DVDs and highly recommend them too. Submitted by Jo (Sevierville, TN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.
Unfortunately a poor "Remaster" ...! Well, Saga-Fans, those so-called "Remasters" of their albums unfortunately turn out poorly in every department - graphics/pictures, as well as sound aren't any better or more improved compared to the original album releases...!! Also, the Bonus Track on this Remaster is an awful acoustic/demo recording of the title track "Security of Illusion" - Michael Sadler's usually great voice folds here ...
So why bother buying it !?
That's simple: For any die-hard fan out there who hasn't got the complete catalogue of albums yet; and further ...if you purchase 10 of Saga's Remasters (coupons are included with CDs !), you receive an exclusive Box from Canada for those CDs ... !!
No doubt about it ... the music on this album is great - not the typical Saga-Sound, but real heavy ...remember ...this is the first release after Saga's (original 5-man-lineup) reunion in 1992 after being split up for about 6 years, so they had to find together again...Enjoyable after all criticism !!

Security Of Illusion music CDs
$8.99 Everything Changed is Abra Moore's first album in six years. The struggle to bring it to life -- from the shambles of another record deal and the tumultuous life occurrences addressed in its songs -- places it automatically outside the realm of the simple ambition required to advance one's career by issuing a new pop album. As such, it is necessary to forgo the standard critical language in addressing it, and to meet it on its own terms and speak its language: that of the human heart, exposed, raw, and desiring wholeness. What is contained within these 13 songs is something mercurial, enigmatic; in essence, it is a work of desire but not covetousness. These songs communicate directly to anyone who has ever experienced wholesale, soul-threatening brokenness and wears the exquisite scar that informs everyday life in its aftermath. Inside the album's booklet, on its first facing page, is a photograph of Moore either entering or emerging from kissing her image in a mirror. It contains no vanity or narcissism. Instead, it expresses honest, ego-less self-regard and beatific love. It is nearly holy in its expression, because it understands that in order to extend oneself to others, one has to accept and embrace the truth and beauty of her own countenance in frailty and vulnerability, as well as in strength and purpose. The music on this record fleshes out this archetype with spiritual and emotional depth and dimension. Moore worked with producer and multi-instrumentalist Jay Joyce on Everything Changed. The end result not only extended her aesthetic reach, but raised his creative watermark as well. Using everything at her disposal, including standard rock instrumentation, ornate strings, keyboard and percussion treatments, electronic beats and textures, and wonderfully subtle atmospherics, Moore strips the considerable quirky charm ...

For the past eight years she has been building a strong solo career, and has independently released her CD “Love Is A Rock”. With songs like “Honey” and “Is This Just A Dream”, Love Is A Rock has a very strong forecast. Before going solo, Aysha performed with the female group Girls In The Mix. “Girls” opened for such performers as Zapp w/Roger and WAR. Aysha went on to perform with Ronkat and the Funklectiks featuring Grammy Award nominated writer, Ron Spearman. Her velvety voice is sultry and smooth with a jazzy edge, and with influences such as Sade, Toni Braxton, Phyllis Hyman and Chante Moore, one can only imagine the vibe. Co-writing the majority of her songs, Aysha has been fortunate to work with some very successful producers and arrangers such as Monty Seward (Howard Hewett), Donald Tavié (Lakeside, Norman Connors) and Kevin Dorsey (Michael Jackson), to name a few. One of Aysha’s most current projects included on her CD is a remake of Atlantic Starr’s “Send For Me” arranged by Donald Tavié.In August of 2006, Roc-Life Radio chose Aysha as one of the Top 20 Unsigned New Artists, which airs on Live365.com and became the #1 Independent Artist on their station in October 2006.
