Recorded in New York, New York, Los Angeles, California, and Chicago, Illinois.
This collection of tunes by the late R&B siren Aaliyah serves double duty as a greatest hits package and a rarities compendium. While the first half of the disc reaches back to Aaliyah's previous albums and snags some of their most memorable songs ("One in a Million," the title track, etc.) the second half consists of previously unreleased material that admirably extends the legacy of a talented young artist whose bright flame was snuffed out far too early. Hearing the old songs again, it's striking how successfully Aaliyah's sensual but feather-light voice interacts with Timbaland's always-inventive production. On the new tracks, the arrangements are a bit more straightforward and predictable (no Timbaland, you see), but Aaliyah's strong vocal presence still rides atop each one with equal amounts of delicacy and authority.
Initial pressings included a bonus DVD.

Fine collection This album not only puts some of aaliyahs biggest hits with new ones but once you start playing this album you dare not skip a track. From the fantastic up beat "more than a woman" to the mellow, haunting "i miss you" this album is a fantastic collection of hits and reminds us what the music industry is missing. Aaliyah still delivers tha bomb I really liked this CD a lot! The new tracks are tight especially her latest single "I Miss U". All the old school tracks of hers do this CD much justice. They took me back to knowing a beauty in the making. Baby girl, thank you for blessing us with your angelic voice and you'll truly be missed! One luv! $10.15 "By reputation, I'm a metal-diva, but not at all by definition. I'm a pop-rock singer-songwriter who grew up with a folk musician father and a hippie rock-jazz mother and have made a name for myself in the European metal scene. I've had a pretty eclectic range of influences and that definitely comes out in the music I make. If names are what you're after, then perhaps a bit like Fiona Apple, Rachael Yamagata, Jewel, Chantal Kreviazuk, Dido, Jem, Cat Power, Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Evanescence, Moloko, Annie Lennox, Kelly Clarkson & Sade thrown into the blender and whipped into a strange, frothy and eclectic concoction that goes down easy. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, but I’ve sanded and stained it, carved scrollwork into it and added glitter here and there. Voilà !OK, now on to the more serious, official stuff. Enjoy!xxAmanda"Singer-songwriter with a razorblade edge.In a business where image often overshadows substance, Amanda Somerville gives the industry CPR with a breath of sincerity through music that is so real, it's goosebump-inducing. The windows to this songwriter's soul are her songs, which are ambient and groovy, yet extremely radio-friendly. Combining heart and soul with hit songwriting, you're bound to be moved.Originally - and still - from Michigan, Amanda has worked primarily in Germany and the Netherlands since 2000. Since then she has independently sold over 7,000 CDs of her solo work and gained thousands of fans all over the world. Being a one-woman team mainly occupied with studio work, that's no small feat. She is currently engaged in both studio and live work in Europe, has been confirmed for the Spring 2008 USA / Canada tour with Epica, a world tour Summer 2008 with Avantasia and will be releasing her latest solo album, "Windows" Summer 2008.DiscographySolo:-In the Beginning there was...
