| Dwight Spitz Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Living Legend (not to be confused with Living Legends) Count Bass D is the most underrated producer/emcee out there. He has masterminded and created one of the greatest displays of sampling ever! Let's get the word out about Count Bass! He's not Doom's brother, but he'll "Roc" you "Sub"woofer! That's why they call him COUNT BASS! Submitted by Charles (Austin, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Certified Classic...
I agree with reviewer Tim below. Count is slept on way too much. He is not the greatest of emcees by any means, but on production alone I can't think of too many that can do what he can do. I can't believe that major labels have not tried to sign this man. 'Dwight Spitz' is as original as it gets, it's music from the heart. Submitted by Culture (Queens, NY) Was This Review Helpful? One of the most creative hip hop releases EVER....
First off, Rolling Stones must be 'sniffing' glue to give this release only 3 stars. The true underground hip hop listener will realize after 1 listen that 'Dwight Spitz' is a classic. The tracks range from 1 to 2 minutes long which is great for those with a short attention span, but simply put the beats are so 'melodic'. I can listen to this day after day and never get bored of it because Count Bass layered the production and blended sounds perfectly. Count is truly under-rated behind the boards. Don't sleep on a real gem of an album, pick it up TODAY!

| | Diamond Stunts, Blunts And Hip Hop CD (1992)
Dwight Spitz CD music
$7.49 Diamond D had quietly provided some exciting production work and made strides within the rap music industry and community throughout the early '90s, but his name didn't become immediately recognizable until his classic guest appearance rapping on A Tribe Called Quest's "Show Business" ("Take it from Diamond/It's like mountain climbing/When it comes to rhyming/You gotta put your time in"), off their masterful second album, The Low End Theory. Even amid vintage verses by such lauded hip-hop company as Tribe's Q-Tip and Phife and Brand Nubian's Lord Jamar and Sadat X, something about Diamond D's forthright and rock-solid, but totally laid-back, style stood out. Hip-hop heads waiting to hear more from him were rewarded with a veritable wealth of treasures when Stunts, ...
| | Das EFX Dead Serious CD (1992)
Dwight Spitz music CDs
$8.39 Das EFX -- part of EPMD's Def Squad crew, which also included K-Solo and Redman, among others -- made such a wide breakthrough in 1992 with their debut album that their hit "They Want EFX" was even referenced in the lily-white teen serial Beverly Hills 90210. That Dead Serious could have that sort of broad impact and still retain its credibility within the underground hip-hop community says something about its appeal, which was considerable. But the album wasn't just appealing; it was also enormously influential, ushering in an entirely unique rhyming flow that influenced any number of rappers, established and novice alike. What exactly the duo is rapping about is anyone's guess. One thing is for sure: their lyrics are about as ...

| | Pete Rock Petestrumentals CD (2001) (Import) United Kingdom
Dwight Spitz album
$8.99 This is an enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
PeteStrumentals follows Jay Dee's Welcome 2 Detroit as the second offering in BBE's producer spotlight "Beat Generation" series. If you approach Pete Rock's joint as a song-oriented pop album, you may feel disappointed. Only two tracks ("Cake" and "Nothin' Lesser - Jamie's Mix") feature MCs and the repetitive, consistently mid-tempo beats get somewhat monotonous by the end of most tracks. If you approach the album as a radical work of sonic architecture, you may also feel disappointed, since Rock's relatively old-school sensibility isn't likely to make ...
