An interesting hodge-podge of tracks used in singer/songwriter/erstwhile beach bum Jack Johnson's 2000 surfing documentary of the same name, THE SEPTEMBER SESSIONS manages to convey a laid-back, groovy atmosphere that perfectly evokes the film's ... Full Descriptionsubject. The opening track, a live version of Jimmy Buffet's "Pirate Looks At 40" performed by Johnson himself, sets the tone for the entire album, establishing a melancholy mood that clearly resonates with the aging ex-champion wave rider.
Other highlights include an unusually soulful contribution from G. Love & Special Sauce and a vintage Indian Bollywood-esque track lifted from 1999's must-have BOMBAY THE HARDWAY: GUNS, CARS & SITARS compilation. The album's best track, however, is the other contribution from THE SEPTEMBER SESSIONS's main man; "F-Stop Blues," is a breezy, wistful delight worthy of Nick Drake or Tim Hardin, and makes a fitting conclusion to an album as warm and engaging as the pacific waters pictured on the disc's cover.
Original score composed by Jack Johnson.

| | Michael Leyde Secret Place CD (2008)
September Sessions Soundtrack album
$11.49 Michael Leyde has enjoyed leading worship for the past 10 years. His unique style, sensitivity and prophetic anointing has allowed him to lead God’s people into worship in places like India, France, Asia, and The United States. His passion for the Presence of God is contagious and his simple approach to worship opens the door for people of all ages. For the past five years Michael has been the Music Pastor at The International Church of Las Vegas. He and his wife Norina reside in Las Vegas with their son Jonathan."The Secret Place" is an intimate worship experience that captured Michael doing what he loves the most: pouring out his heart. The music takes you on a journey through landscapes of praise, meditation, worship, and intimacy. The creative space is open and free, with songs like "Pool of Siloam", and "Breathe Deep". Hear the cries of a longing heart in "All i Want", and "More of You". If intimacy with God is what you desire, then this is the album for you! :Testimonies:Michael Leyde's new CD The Secret Place is an incredible journey into the heart of the Father. Michael's ability as a worship leader to usher us into the Presence of God is amazing. That ability is birthed out of his own personal life with Jesus and His love for His Presence. As the Lord is calling His children into greater realms of intimacy with Him and as He is teaching us how to simply soak in His Presence, this CD is a perfect fit. For those wanting to go deeper with the Lord and truly experience the Secret Place, this CD will not disappoint. Banning Liebscher- Revivalist and Associate Pastor of Bethel Church Redding, CAThere is no doubt in anyone's mind that "Christian Music" or "Worship Music" have been in a Nashville induced coma for the last several years. Those of us who crave real, passionate, and honest music made by Artists who live in the presence of God, have been forced into a dark corner with hardly no options but a fruitless carbon copy of what the "world" has to offer. And then....I receieve a copy of Michael's album as a gift. It is as much a breath of fresh air as it is a stream in the desert. It has renewed my faith in music made by Christians.I mean it when I say this album is not a luxury for a believer's devotional life, it is an absolute necessity.Michael lives with a powerful conviction and drive to experience the deep things of God, and we as the listener now get to sit under his tree and partake of the overflow of fruit avalanching from it's branches. From the first note of the first track, you can tell this music was written and recorded by a man who's roots have anchored in a completely unmoveable place in God.There is no industry in this album, no gimmicks or overproduction. It's brilliance IS its simplicity. Michael speaks for all of us with these songs, and as always, I feel closer to the heart of God with each listen. The bottom line: if John the Beloved could have recorded a cd of songs he had written, this would it.Brian Foster KaneThe Secret Place is my favorite CD's to listen when soaking with the Lord. With its intimate and raw feel you connect with God in the deepest of places. The anointing on this CD is amazing and I can't ...
