Tenor sensation Russell Watson claims that his album REPRISE "has something for everybody." It certainly has plenty for his legion of loyal, adoring fans. The heartthrob singer's third release follows the same road as his previous discs with operatic arias, Italian songs, and romantic anthems delivered in his robust, straightforward style. Watson offers dramatic accounts of Euro-pop ballads such as "Immenso Sogno," "Tutto sei per me," and "Did You Ever," and a soaring cover of the Mike+ the Mechanics hit "The Living Years," featuring a guest appearance by Mike Rutherford. But he's at his best when he's able to open things up and fully unleash "the voice" as on the Neapolitan standards "Santa Lucia," "Core 'ngrato," and "Torna a Surriento." He also flexes his vocal muscles on well-known songs and arias such as "Granada," "Recondita armonia," and "Vesti la giubba." Lush arrangements by Nicholas Dodd and Nick Ingram provide the ideal backdrop for Watson's crowd-pleasing efforts.
International version of his third album features three additional tracks (17 total) plus seven tracks that are not on the US version, 'Thats Amore', 'Ave Maria', 'Questa O Quella', 'Nothing Sacred, 'Pourquoi Me Reveiller', 'I Dont Know How I Got By' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. The US edition has four tracks that are not on here. It began with 'The Voice'...It was followed by 'Encore'...now, Russell Watson returns with his stunning third album 'Reprise'. Effortlessly gliding through his trademark assortment of operatic arias and popular ballads, Russell's fantastic voice just seems to get stronger and stronger. The many highlights include a powerful version of Bizet's 'Pearl-Fishers' duet, Schubert's 'Ave Maria' and a wonderful arrangement of Dean Martin's 'That's Amore'. 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and Mike And The Mechanics hit 'Living Years' round off what is without doubt his most polished album to date. Universal. 2002.

Reprise Music Review
Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) THE AMAZING MR. WATSON Russell Watson is an incredible talent. He has converted people to classical music who never even gave it a second chance before listening to THE VOICE (his first CD), then ENCORE which brought in even more fans, and now, REPRISE. The Pearl Fishers' Duet (with himself, no less), is amazing; Core 'ngrato is simply wonderful; Immenso Sogno brings tears to the eyes, and All or Nothing (non-classical), is an example of his versatility as a singer. There is something for all on this new release. Submitted by a reviewer (Front Royal, VA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful. This review is for a different format.

RUSSELL WATSON HAS DONE IT AGAIN!! Russell Watson is THE best voice since Elvis!!! And I should know; I grew up with The King!! As far as I'm concerned, Russell is the new King.
I have everything that he's done, and this new CD, the US release of Reprise, is magnificent!! Russell truly has the voice of an angel whether he's singing pop or opera.
You won't be sorry you bought this CD. I can't wait for his next one!!! Submitted by a reviewer (Salisbury, North Carolina) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Truly Amazing!! Russell Watson in his latest "gift" to us "Reprise" has proven once again what an extraordinary talent he is. He has such an incredible ability to sing both classical and pop with both styles being equally as thrilling! In the beautiful "The Pearl Fishers' Duet" both of the voices you hear belong to Mr. Watson which leaves one to believe that there is no end to what this young man can do. "Pourquoi me reveiller?", "Recondita armonia" and "Core'ngrato" are truly breathtaking with each being exquisitely performed causing "goose bumps" galore! And you won't believe "La danza" and "That's Amore". Well, you will just have to listen for yourselves. In the "Living Years" and "The Best That Love Can Be" you will be using the replay button often. Your heart will truly be touched by both of these moving and convincing performances.
"Bohemian Rhapsody"! Well, to be honest I never really cared for the song but now that I hear it with the Watson touch, it takes on a complete new feel for me. And of course the wonderful "Is Nothing Sacred". This will become an all time favorite as Russell sings it with such warmth and passion. As with his other CDs, "The Voice" and "Encore", I find myself listening straight through the entire album hoping there is one more song. The music on this CD is beautiful and captivating and I can say with all certainty Mr. Watson definitely has another winner here!!
