It will always be a mystery how a grown man can spend his life wearing a school tie and short pants and receive adulation from the heavy metal fraternity. HM followers do not tolerate a cissy, yet the hugely talented Angus Young has become something of a hero. His riff-laden fills, combined with the tough vocals of the late Bon Scott, made AC/DC one of the genre's all-time leading lights. Bordering on the lighter side of metal, songs such as 'Love Hungry Man', 'Touch Too Much' and the title track will always delight.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Wow..just wow..this album is one of the finest efforts by one of the most profound Hard Rock acts of all time. Any fan of post-Bon Scott AC/DC should give this record a spin, tracks like "Girls Got Rhythm," "Beating Around the Bush," and "Love Hungry Man" will make any Brian Johnson fan realize who is the superior front man. Surely their best album ever. I know some will disagree with Mutt Lange's approach with AC/DC, but to me he clearly brought to light their best. Here he does what Vanda/Young couldn't figure out with the sound on Powerage.I'm always torn between Let there be rock or Highway to hell as my fave. Nice. I never really liked AC/DC, but this album changed everything. I love every song on it, especially Night Prowler. I'll have that on repeat for hours. It's amazing! Submitted by N.Stalker13 (Night) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A classic Highway to Hell, along with Let There be Rock re the very best from AC/DC. Not to take anything away from the Johnson era.
I remember when this came out in late summer 79 and partying hard to it. I remember soing the same later to Back in Black, but it just wasn't the same. This album contains some great songs. Bon was quite a lyricist. Submitted by Darryl (Pensacola, FL & Fulton, MO) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Bon's last stand The Bon Scott years were AC/DCs finest moments and this album says 'goodbye' as he cruises down the 'highway to hell'. It's a phenomenally good album, full of adrenalin pumping ballsy rock that's always synonymous with AC/DCs no-bull style. We salute you, Bon! With AC/DC's third release, POWERAGE, the band was dispensing even heftier ammo from their hook-laden cartridge belt. With the rock-steady rhythm section pounding out 4/4 beats as if it were overtaking a small country, guitarists ...

Highway To Hell album

The members of Spirit had such wide-ranging musical backgrounds it's a wonder that they came together at all. The band managed to create four fine albums before splintering and reforming in a series of altered lineups. The group's blend of jazz, rock & roll, and pop leanings resulted in some surprising singles. Perhaps most audacious was the group's first hit, "Mechanical World." The song sounds like nothing else on the radio before or since, and says a great deal about the breadth of radio programming in the '60s.
The band's breakthrough chart hit was "I Got a Line on You." Not surprisingly, this song reached the heights it did by narrowing its focus down to a winning match of riffs and hooks. With the album THE TWELVE DREAMS OF DR. SARDONICUS, Spirit had its first commercially successful LP (though Spirit unfortunately disbanded after its release). Two songs in particular helped reel in new listeners, "Nature's Way" and "Mr. Skin," both of which are featured here. This collection is a fine short introduction to Spirit. For a more in-depth look, try the two-disc TIME CIRCLE set.
It's true that Spirit were a very album-oriented band, one that might best be experienced through albums rather than compilations. If you do want those albums, the first four and best of them are all available on CD, sometimes with bonus tracks. If a compilation's good enough for you, this is a good one to get, its 16 songs drawing pretty equally from those four initial Ode/Epic albums. Basically, it's an expanded ...
| | Miles Davis Birdland 1951 CD (2004) Remastered
Highway To Hell CD music
$8.29 These ten tracks, taken from radio broadcasts from the legendary Birdland in 1951, represent a particularly fruitful period in Miles Davis' development as a bandleader. There are three different broadcasts included here; two comprising six cuts in total were from June and September and have been issued in various forms on bootlegs over the decades. Four cuts, however, taken from a broadcast on February 17, have never been available in any form and it is these as well the marginally better fidelity of the entire set that makes this worth owning for Miles freaks -- and only Miles freaks. The sextet on the February ...
