Though the cover photos on ANGEL depict Amanda Perez as a tough, Timberland-sporting gangsta tomboy in the vein of Missy Elliot, the music reveals the vocalist/rapper to be an expert crooner of smoothly seductive heartache songs. If Perez's rhymes are perhaps a bit stilted, her singing is just the opposite, her voice possessing an appealing emotional honesty and sense of melancholy that's unusual among her peers. What really sets this Latina apart from other female hip-hop artists, though, is the fact that she produced, wrote, and arranged every song and played virtually every instrument on ANGEL herself.
Perez's East Coast production style is nicely sparse, placing the emphasis on her sweetly fragile voice and subtle hooks. Lyrically, ANGEL is a breakup album, and Perez is unafraid of her laying her insecurities and hurt feelings out for the world to see. This willingness to reveal herself as a real human being, combined with her astounding musicality, allows Amanda Perez to connect with her listeners in a profound and satisfying manner.

Purchase Angel CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | South Park Mexican Reveille Park CD (2002)
Angel album
$13.65 Carlos Coy's follow-up to 2001's NEVER CHANGE is harder and meaner than its predecessor, almost as if the South Park Mexican had decided to circle the wagons and forget all about trying to court popularity outside his immediate Houston circle. He's still at his best when he's trying to combine R&B with Hispanic and Caribbean influences, such as on the infernally catchy "Suckaz and Hataz," and "Lord Loco's Melody." This combination has a charm all its own, but on this outing Coy is mostly more than happy to stick to his chosen turf--drugs, guns and hoes, all set to the barest of backbeats and the sparsest of instrumentation. NEVER CHANGE showed that lurking somewhere inside SPM's cool macho interior is a wellspring of creativity, and if REVEILLE PARK finds him resting on his laurels somewhat, he's still a block or two ahead of many of his contemporaries.
K0lbum. Most of the lyrics on this album were not written. SPM shouts out lyrics right off the top of his head. A form of artistic rapping that first became popular by artist like Yungstar, Lil Flip and other members of the Screwed Up Click (S.U.C.). ...
| | Ludacris Chicken -N- Beer CD (2003)
Angel CD music
$10.45 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
In the year leading up to the release of his third disc, CHICKEN & BEER, Ludacris' distinguished drawl could be heard all over the radio on commanding guest appearance after guest appearance, most notably on Missy Elliott's smash "Gossip Folks." Not that he needed any more airplay--his first two major releases already had the Georgian rapper well established as one of the most accomplished Dirty South crossover acts.
CHICKEN & BEER is an apt title for the ravenously hungry record with few moments of sobriety, as Ludacris unleashes his most gentle of furies. In "Southern Fried Intro," he unabashedly admits to throwing all styles, even pop, into his musical stew, before firing the full-out assault of "Blow It Out," a measured, righteous, anthemic response to his doubters and detractors, including an on-point slap at talk show host Bill O'Reilly over their much-chronicled Pepsi flap. He then switches to seduction of the most swaggering brand ...
| | Jagged Edge Hard CD (2003)
Angel music CDs
$7.85 Additional personnel includes: Jermaine Dupri (vocals, drums); Major Damage, Big Boi, Street Katz, Woonie, Jazze Pha (rap vocals); Kevin Hicks, Ray Holton (guitar); Melvin Coleman (keyboards); LaMarquis Jefferson (bass); Tiffany Beaudoin (background vocals); Bryan M. Cox.
Fresh off a 2002 GRAMMY nod for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Jagged Edge once again brings plenty of harmonies and attitude on its fourth outing, HARD. Working with a coterie of producers that include So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri, the men of JE continue down a path that's equal parts thug and lover. Making like Boyz II Men with swagger, these Atlanta natives easily shift gears from silk-sheet-and-champagne slow jams like "Walked Outta Heaven," "Visions," and the acoustic-guitar kissed "I Don't Wanna," to more up tempo fare, including the call-and-response "Girls Gone Wild" (featuring Major Damage) and the thumping "Tryna Be Your Man." As if all this singing about wooing the ladies wasn't enough, Jagged Edge take it up a notch with a pair of bonus cuts--"Car ...

Angel music CDs
$13.05 This is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by DJ Fluid.
The Sounds of OM series has become something of an institution; each volume brings together what its compilers say are the greatest and most sought-after 12" remixes of the past year, most of them previously available only on vinyl. It's a nice service to provide clubgoers who don't have turntables at home or can't be bothered to haunt the vinyl shops or spend all night turning records over, and the material is generally quite good. The fourth volume in the series is a continuous DJ mix by DJ Fluid (who did the honors on the first volume, as well), and features 15 tracks of quality house music by the likes of Afro-Mystik, Miguel Migs, Kaskade, ...

Angel songs
$13.59 Israel has not been a major-league player in metal the way that England, the United States, Germany, and the Scandinavian countries have been major-league players in metal (at least as of 2008), but some noteworthy metal bands have come out of Israel -- and one of them is Distorted. The fact that Voices from Within is metal has not been disputed, but exactly what type of metal Distorted play has been debated. This 2008 release has been called everything from progressive metal (even though Distorted don't sound anything like Dream Theater or Rhapsody) to doom metal, although it's probably best to describe this melodic yet forceful effort as a mixture of alternative metal and gothic metal with extreme metal references and hints of Middle Eastern music. Lead singer Miri Milman favors an angelic vocal style that is right out of goth metal -- if Milman made a guest appearance ...
