i think its one of the best albums from this band. A masterpeice from progressive metal. As the years pass it will always be enjoyed as something new.

What I say about Gamma Ray after Kai break up with Helloween is........ Kai Hansen the best songwriter and the most honest guitarrist I ever heard!!! This album proves that he didn´t need the pumpkin´s stuff anymore! ..... For me this is the Keepers III, the quality of the compositions are focused of that golden Helloween´s era......just listen to the first 3 tracks and heading for tomorrow and you will see!!!!! Definitely an album to recommend for you all!! Ralf Scheepers was the first option of Kai to get the vocal duties on helloween when he couldn´t do it anymore!! So he called him up again and the result its perfet!

Released in 1978, LONG LIVE was the final Ronnie James Dio-fronted release by Rainbow. Dio would go on to front Black Sabbath, while guitarist Richie Blackmore would reunite with Deep Purple. The album caps off a string of tremendous releases from one of the strongest branches on the heavy-metal family tree. The title track is a fan favorite and one of the strongest tunes from this era--a heavy rock tune written for arenas. "Lady of the Lake" is a solid number featuring haunting background vocals. "L.A. Connection" features the piano tinglings of keyboardist David Stone. "Gates of Babylon" is a mammoth track featuring the Bavarian String Ensemble, as synthesizer and strings combine for a symphonic big-rock sound. Another standout is "Kill the King," a speedy, full force tune with Mr. Blackmore doing what he does best. Blackmore opens the thunderous "The Shed (Subtle)" with a fluid, effects-laden bluesy solo. "Rainbow Eyes" is a seven-minute epic that features a string quartet, flute, and Dio's euphonic balladry. LONG LIVE, while not the masterwork that is RAINBOW RISING, is a strong album that ends the Dio era on a high note. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Rainbow includes: Ronnie James Dio (vocals); Ritchie Blackmore (guitar); Cozy Powell (drums).

Frontman Rob Halford has considered this to be Judas Priest's SGT. PEPPER, and it's easy to see why. The album expanded upon the group's debut by tackling a variety of styles, utilizing dynamics to striking effect, and establishing the essential guitar interplay between Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing. "Victim Of Changes" may be forever known for its snarling riffs and Halford's startling final scream, but its subdued mid-section enhances the power of those elements. "The Ripper" offers up Victorian horror, while "Tyrant" and "Island Of Domination" thunder along with metallic machismo. The album has it softer side, however, notably the neo-classical rock instrumental "Prelude," the melancholy piano ballad "Epitaph," complete with crooning vocal harmonies, and the semi-acoustic existential contemplation "Dreamer Deceiver," a long-lost gem in the band's large oeuvre. Frankly, every track on this album is a winner, and SAD WINGS OF DESTINY would become the first of several albums from Priest that would forever transform the world of heavy metal. Re-Issue
