fairport at its best
This is my favorite FC album, and one of my favorite folk-rock albums of all-time. Fairport departs somewhat from its focus on traditional English balladry and blends rock, Dylan and raga into the mix. Richard Thompson shines on elecric guitar. The two bonus tracks are interesting takes on material originally covered by Dylan and the Byrds.

BUY.....Any Means Necessary
There are 3 indispensable Fairport Convention albums: made so by the membership of both Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson in the band, and this is the best of the lot.Sandy's voice at its golden peak,Thompson's mercurial guitar work and a batch of truly inventive Dylan covers are only a few reasons to recommend this.It still gives me shivers....

Agoodalbumeddable.
The Fairport ensemble weren't on tip-top
form on "Unhalfbricking", but they were not far away. This LP is highly recommended, if only for the photo on the cover which appears to show vocalist
Sandy Denny's parents wisely standing out of ear-shot as their daughter and her new mates tune up for another practice sesh.
That's folk and roll for you!

MORE THAN A MASTERPIECE
My headline says it all. Dylan's songs with Sandy Denny's voice and Richard Thompson's guitar in one of the best folk-rock records of all times. Period.
