Copeland Beneath Medicine Tree Songs Beneath Medicine Tree Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Wowee !! Best album ever ?? .. I'd say so Seriously everyone who loves emotional rock, indie or rock should fall in love with this album. Words simply can't describe how good it is, its like listening to heaven .. I honestly never knew music could be so beautiful. The new EP is also not bad, but this album is where it's at. This is a must have for everyone !!! Doesn't it annoy you that Britney Spears is more popular than these guys ? hehehe... Well let me sum up, buy it now !!!! Not one bad song on this one, not even a average song .... everything is 100 %. Submitted by chachachacha49 (Victoria, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
most underated band ever (shame) Beneath the medicine tree is the album I would love to make as a artist if i had the chance. But i dont believe i could ever craft a song as cool as "When Paula sparks". lyrics i understand with music that trancends anything on the radio,(the DJs know of Copeland, they have to if i do). "When finally set free" a song thats helped me through a trying time in my life can only be written with hurt as inspiration, that is Copeland. If you ever get the chance to see them, you should. Support them and buy merch from them when you see them too. Submitted by Kapua (Port Orchard, WA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$22.19 This 2003 debut release from Atlanta based indie-rock outfit The Hiss contains 12 tracks including "Clever Kicks" and "Listen To Me".
On its debut album Panic Movement, Atlanta's the Hiss crafts a snarling brand of garage rock that isn't quite as raw and urgent as, say, the Von Bondies, but isn't as polished and premeditated as the D4. Named for an avant-garde art movement, the album finds the band trying to weld some challenging lyrics and imagery to its loud, often dense music; sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. "Imagine being stabbed by all your friends," sings Adrian Barrera on the paradoxically named "Triumph," and it fits the song's sense of claustrophobic menace; however, "We know what you've been eating in your fancy restaurants and we don't like it" just detracts from "Not for Hire"'s angry-young-man stance. Likewise, the Hiss also borrows from other styles of music with mixed results; as its name implies, "Riverbed" is a bluesy, Led Zep-inspired outburst that borders on metal, while "Ghost's Gold" is a plodding epic that tends to diffuse into psychedelic haze as it unfolds. Like many garage rock bands, the Hiss is most powerful in small doses, and at this point, the band's most straightforward songs work the best. "Clever Kicks" is a fierce statement of purpose, and while "Back on the Radio" and "Brass Tacks" aren't as dynamic or fully formed, they're still decent enough examples of garage rock revivalism. Not coincidentally, the breathers the band takes between Panic Movement's rockers end up being some of the album's highlights. "Hard to Lose" boasts sweet vocals and even sweeter guitars; on songs like this and "Listen to Me," the Hiss sounds like a harder-edged Oasis -- not a bad thing at all. Alternately too predictable and too quirky, Panic Movement reveals the Hiss is an ambitious band who can't always deliver on its goals. Perhaps the group's next album will have a better balance of firepower and finesse. ~ Heather Phares

Beneath Medicine Tree songs
$27.65 Enthusiasts who have fantasized about experiencing the Doors in a loose and unstructured environment get an hour-and-a-half dose of that reality in this two-disc set available through the band's own Bright Midnight Records. Although the music commences in a rather noncommittal fashion, there are a few moments of undiluted inspiration. This rehearsal was held on the day following two live performances (both of which are available as Live at the Aquarius Theatre) in Hollywood, CA, on July 21, 1969. The concept behind these recordings was to patch up some of the weaker moments from the previous afternoon and evening's live sets. In turn, the band's producer, Paul Rothchild, planned on using these tapes as the centerpiece of an upcoming live LP -- which would surface as Absolutely Live the following year. These recordings are completely unedited and reveal what by all accounts sounds like a frustrated and bored band. They aimlessly meander through the slow bluesy "I Will Never Be Untrue" and continue to struggle for direction as they wind their way through an uninspired ...
