Brian Johnson's second album as AC/DC's frontman, and as such helped them create a phenomenal commercial success, with both singles, 'Let's Get It Up' and the title track, charting on both sides of the Atlantic. The album went on to sell over a million copies worldwide and the title track became an immediate live favourite, complete with a cannon-fire salute stage show that became instant encore material. Elsewhere, their familiar rattle remained intact, with 'Night Of The Long Knives' and 'Breaking The Rules' forging a familiar piece of metal.

C.O.D One of the best Brian Johnson albums. C.O.D. is my favorite. Very good rythm, great lyrics, great solo, got a GREAT rock and roll feeling to it, buy the album just for that. Submitted by jomomma (Springfield) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A LANDMARK IN ROCK N' ROLL HISTORY THIS ALBUM IS 100% BALLS TO THE WALL ROCK N' ROLL. from FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK (which I think is the greatest rock and roll song ever written) to SNOWBALLED, BREAKING THE RULES, this album is magnificent! Brian is dead on with his voice, the ferocity of Angus's guitar riffs, just amazing. Submitted by Alton (Clarksville, MI) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

The 2003 edition of HIGH VOLTAGE includes liner notes by Murray Engelheart.
HIGH VOLTAGE was the first chance America had to glimpse the raw power of Australia's best hard rock outfit. From their earliest days, lead guitarist Angus Young, a spastic dwarf-like riff-monger who wore nothing but traditional schoolboy attire, led this band of hooligans with gleeful perversity and balls-out ambition. The group's intent is perfectly clear from the disc's opening power chords: to distill rock and mutate the blues down to its barest essentials in a pulverizing whomp. Riding over the top of the battering ...

Recorded in 1976. Originally released as Atlantic (16033). Includes liner notes by David Wild.
Although it wasn't released stateside until '81, DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP is an Australian compilation recorded in the mid-70's. By the time of its U.S. release, singer Bon Scott had already died of alcohol poisoning and the band had emerged from the tragedy with new singer Brian Johnson and the stunning BACK IN BLACK. This album then, perhaps inadvertently, serves as an epitaph for the late, tattoo-emblazoned singer. And there is no more fitting eulogy than the title track, which captures Scott in all his raunchy glory.
Full of ill will, ...

AC/DC had been nearly written off as a shadow of its former pulverizing self at the start of the '90s. It seemed, sadly, that the band's best hard rock years were behind them and a younger, more able-bodied generation of rockers would be needed to carry the torch. Out of nowhere, then, came THE RAZOR'S EDGE, an album of startling potency. Not only was the firepower back in terms of gripping riffs, but the band was able to summon ...
