This Japanese compilation collects 29 tracks from the sultry blue-eyed soul British invader who gave the world "Spooky," "Son of a Preacher Man," "(They Long to Be) Close to You," "Look of Love," "Sunny," and "This Girl's in Love with You," all of which appear here. All of the tracks have been drawn from Springfield's 1964 to 1973 heyday, so there's little in the way of filler, and For Café Après-Midi further ups the ante with a handful of rare cuts culled from her 2000 box set, Simply Dusty, making it one of the better (but difficult to find) Dusty Springfield collections on the market. ~ James Christopher Monger
