Day In Holland
$9.35 THE KOLONY STORY SO FAR:In the beginning of the new millenium, the city of Gothenburg was invaded by a bunch of thrill-seeking rednecks from the darkest woods of Wermland. Setting camp in an eastern surburb the happy gang thrived and enjoyed all the pleasures this new big city had to offer. Everything seemed super sweet. However, the musical climate in the city was beginning to turn rarely lame. "The Gothenburg sound", which started off as a melodic kind of fast thrash metal, with bands like At The Gates, had begun to sniff its own butt with the tip of its dick and it was just a matter of time before full penetration would be a tragic fact. Our heroes realised that something had to be done. Fortunately, among these brave vigilantes there were several with great musical skills, in fact some of them had even played in bands before! Hence, with the honourable goal to create some kind of anti-materia to all pretty little melodies and whiny vocals, the corageous colonists of Kortedala formed: The KolonyUnder surveillance of producer Fredrik Reinedahl, guitarist Tena D Trade and drummer Putto Pojkdottir recorded a demo oozing of old filthy punk-thrash metal mixed with blastbeats and perverted psychedelic pirouettes. The response was great among the fellow immigrants but the boys, exhausted after relieving all their surpressed heavy metal hatred into this recording had no power left to distribute their work outside of the colony. Nevertheless, bass player Puta Karens and vocalist M. Evil (who was actually a farmer from another county and the first 'bastard' in the band) joined in, and another demo called 'Choose Your Poison' was recorded. The band was now anxious to demonstrate its demonic delirium live, and a few shows were played in Gothenburg. By now vocalist Axl Ben Zo had been recruited, and for live-shows, guitarist Jonah Haze was helping the band with second guitar and his stunning looks. However, putting six demented men in the same band proved to be a lot harder than it seems when Slipknot does it. After a dramatic rape/fight incident between some of the members, M. Evil quit the band and was replaced by mad man Jaunice Tomboy. As frontman of the depraved raw-punk band Motörbreath, Jaunice was used to the action, and the perfect blow for the job. At the same time, guitarist Erica Barrow replaced Jonah Haze, who had to concentrate on other projects and doing his laundry. After a couple of legendary liveshows the band felt the time had come to invest all its potential in a fullength album. With good friend and ...
