Those outside the inner circle of emo/punk fandom might be daunted by the seemingly endless supply of West Coast bands who've sprung up in that genre in the early '00s. However those who delight in punk energy married to pop hooks and earnest emotion will delight in Rufio's explosion into the mainstream after a couple of albums. 1985 (inconveniently expressed on the album cover in Roman numerals) presents a band that's tighter than the proverbial drum and full of vitality and passion. On such tracks as the propulsive, intricately riff-laden "Science Fiction" and the frenzied, full-on "Why Wait?" the proud men of Rufio broadcast their mix of punk and pop with the kind of emotional commitment that quickly makes hardcore fans out of innocent bystanders.

Great follow up to their previous album "Perhaps I Suppose..." the new stuff sounds great but i dont know if its as great as their first. I need time to see if I still like the songs a couple of weeks from now. Bottom Line its worth 10 bucks. BUY IT.

4 stars quite enjoyable
rufio do pop punk well. not that hthat's particularly hard, it's just too easy to do it poorly. anyway, this album has some very good songs on it (every track) and some tasty lead guitars. it's overall not as fast sounding as "perhaps..." but the guitars sound to be much more in-depth. albums like this, as far as punk should be concerned, are why bands have 2 people playing guitar. i reccomend it.

4 stars A Common Mistake
Punk Music Guitar is not difficult at all...The riffs on this cd will not blow your mind if you know anything about guitar. The album is good, not quite as good as their first but the songs are consistantly good, which most other albums dont have.. like stated before if you just heard of rufio buy their first cd, but i would reccomend picking this one up as well its worth it..
