Angel Of The American Stage Music Della Reese Angel Of The American Stage Songs Angel Of The American Stage Music Review Average Rating: (3 out of 5 stars) If It's Live, SAY It's Live! The cover makes no mention about the fact that all but four tracks on this compilation, are live performances. I'm a young man who is just getting into Della, and I feel a little deceived by this album, but at least the art work is beautiful, and the live songs aren't actually bad. Della's voice shines through the sloppy quality, and she melts your heart with old favorites such as "Don't You Know" and "Won't You Come Home, Bill Bailey?"
But... IT'S LIVE, FOLKS! Remember, most of these compilations by this label, are sloppy live performances, and they make no mention of it, so beware. Submitted by reno1987 (Reno) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Lucinda Williams Live @ The Fillmore West CDs (2005) Digipak
Angel Of The American Stage
$14.35 Never one to tread the expected path, Lucinda Williams followed her big breakthrough album, CAR WHEELS ON A GRAVEL ROAD, with a pair of low-key records full of sad, quiet, fragile songs (interrupted by the occasional barn-burner). LIVE @ THE FILLMORE concentrates heavily on those latter two releases, unleashing all the intense, burning emotions that lay at ...

| | Bob Dylan Modern Times CD (2006) Deluxe Edition includes bonus DVD
Angel Of The American Stage
$15.95 Musically, the album finds Dylan once again mining the stately traditionalist sound first heard on LOVE AND THEFT. Lazy blues numbers, piano-based songbook pop, and jumpin' country swing provide the backdrop for Dylan's continuing study of the vicissitudes of life, love, and death. Although he is certainly world-weary, a lot of life is lived in the verses of these songs and there is a dogged spirituality that provides, if not hope (a rather prosaic notion for Dylan by this point, to be sure), at least a means to finding contentment. Finally, a word about Dylan's voice here: while his singing has always been unconventional and never pretty in any traditional sense, in its raspy magnificence it is simply perfect for this timeless music.
Bob Dylan's first new album in five years! His 44th album features 10 new songs and is the third release in an outstanding trilogy along with Time Out Of Mind and Love And Theft. This special edition includes a DVD featuring 4 additional songs and an expanded booklet.
It's arguable that at no point since his 1960s heyday has Bob Dylan been as celebrated as in the decade following his critically acclaimed 1997 album TIME OUT OF MIND. Numerous films, books, and albums--mostly Columbia's impressive archive series of ...
| | Cannonball Adderley Swiss Radio Days Jazz Series, Vol. 3: Lugano 1963 CD (1995)
Angel Of The American Stage
$11.59 Recorded live at Auditorio RSI, Lugano, Switzerland on March 24, 1963. Includes liner notes by Norberto Gimelfarb and Paolo Keller.
LUGANO 1963 is a radio transcription released as part of TCB Records' SWISS RADIO DAYS series of live-jazz discs. The recording may not be as pristine-sounding as some of Julian "Cannonball" Adderley's live discs from this era, like PARIS 1960 or 1966's IN JAPAN, but it's impossible to argue with the contents.
LUGANO 1963 was recorded with nearly the same sextet lineup that released the classic NIPPON SOUL album the same year: alto saxophonist Adderley, his cornetist brother Nat, reedsman Yusef Lateef, pianist Joe Zawinul, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Louis Hayes. The recording features ...

Angel Of The American Stage
$17.09 The Plungers are a 7 piece surf instrumental group featuring3 guitars, bass, 6 string bass, and electric baritone and 12string guitars. The songs are all original. The bands maininfluences are The Ventures, The Astronauts, and Link Wray. VINTAGE GUITAR MAGAZINE REVIEWThe Plungers have to rank as the most prolific band on the surf scene, releasing two CDs of killer originals in 2003. And as good as Land of a Thousand Surf Guitars was, it's followup, Guitars Gone Wild, ups the ante, with 21 instrumentals - each more evocative than the one before. Not an easy feat. The septet (which grew out of a University of Oklahoma combo called The Sperm ...
