| | Karim Rashid: Newyorkelectronew CD - Import
Renegade clothing designer Karim Rashid decided that working with Prada, Hilfiger, and Armani wasn't enough, so he became a record producer. That makes sense, though, as virtually everybody who set foot in his boutique stores asked, "Hey, who's that playing on the sound system?" This set features music from Suicide, Talking Heads, MC5, Material, and Man Parrish, among many others.
The first in a series of CD’s inspired by the world renowned designer, Karim Rashid. In 1993, Rashid opened his own design house in New York City after establishing a personal reputation at other famous designer houses like Prada, Issey Miyake, Totem, Pure Design, Estee Lauder, Tommy Hilfiger, Giorgio Armani, Sony and others. The music on this disc is inspired heavily by the early synth-pop era, it is part of the evolution of the early 80 's east village sound of Suicide, Talking Heads, Material, MC5, Man Parrish and others. Delve deep into the mind of one of New York’s bellwether trendsetters and grab hold of the Moment. The first double-CD of original material by a rap artist, ALL EYEZ ON ME marks 2Pac's return from incarceration to the recording grind. And though Tupac Shakur may have spent the better part of 1995 locked up and battling the system, the album makes it obvious that, rather than degenerating his artistic abilities, the struggles have only elevated his skills. Now, with the backing of West Coast hip-hop's first family, Death Row Records, 2Pac gathers together many of the rap ruling class to celebrate his comeback and give the finger to those who've scrutinized his music and aggravated his existence.
While California ...
