AC/DC remained popular amongst metalheads in the mid '80s, but the commercial disappointment of albums like 1983's FLICK OF THE SWITCH showed that the pop audience who discovered the band with 1980's mammoth seller BACK IN BLACK was losing interest. Instead of radically altering its sound like many other hard rock bands of the era did after weak-selling albums, AC/DC admirably stuck to its guns and continued in a bluesy hard rock direction with 1985's FLY ON THE WALL. While the album didn't exactly catapult the band back to the top of the charts, it did sell more copies than its predecessor. The album also marked the band's first studio recording with new drummer Simon Wright.

FLY ON THE WALL's highlights include "Sink the Pink" and "Shake Your Foundations," a track that would be included just one year later on WHO MADE WHO, a soundtrack to Stephen King's movie MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. "Danger," "Back in Business," and "Playing With Girls," are also standouts. While it's not on par with AC/DC's classic albums, FLY ON THE WALL is still a strong effort.

5 stars A sadly unappreciated masterpiece!
If you want to discover some of the most amazingly crunchy riffs that Malcolm Young ever laid down on record, buy this CD! If you want to hear some of the most soul-filled, frenetically rockin' Angus Young solos ever, buy this CD! Btw, forget the whining naysayers, purists, and the fan boys who complain about the mix of Brian Johnson's vocals on this album. They are wrong and they will never be able to understand why this album is so great. Not only does Fly On The Wall have some of the raunchiest (and best) lyrics that Johnson ever wrote, the fact is that his vocals sound dirty, mean and gritty and that's exactly the way the Young brothers wanted it. Take my advice, buy Fly On The Wall today in time to enjoy it for the rest of your life! You won't be sorry...

5 stars Best ACDC
Best album ever made by ACDC I have to say this album is better than Back in Black, For those about to Rock, and Highway to Hell. This was my first ACDC album and I really enjoyed this one.If you are a starter and just first starting to listen to ACDC I suggest you get this album for your first. All the songs are good there is not one weak song on this album. BUY IT

4 stars a great often overlooked album
some people would say that this is one of their worst albums.i personally always liked it.to me it has a heavier and different sound then anything else ac dc has ever done.sink the pink and back in buisness are two of my favorite ac dc tracks.along with the title track and shake your foundations almost every song is good, although first blood and send for the man are the two weakest tracks in my opinion.i might be of the minority but i perfer this cd to alot of albums that would follow.
