Biography of Only 1-WAYOnly 1-WAY Originated in Detroit, Michigan at Hope Evangelical Ministries. The Pastor of the Group's church, Kevin L. Young, approached the members of Only 1-WAY with a vision of them becoming an Urban Gospel rap/singing group known today as Only 1-WAY. The group name comes from Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved". The bible verse inspired the name of the group because the members knew that there was only one way to get to heaven and through only on man, Jesus Christ. All the members of the group realized their God giving talents at earlier ages and were anxious and excited to do the will of the Lord.In 2004 Only 1-WAY made their first public debut as a group at their church during the Appreciation Service of the church's two pastors. The audience received them with great enthusiasm and praise and that's when they knew for sure that they were doing what God had called them to do; reach the younger generation, who many feel are lost, through contemporary gospel music.Following their first public debut Only 1-WAY recorded their first single entitled "Why I lift You High".
