More Beautiful Music Linda Eder has the ablility to lift any piece of music to a higher level. This CD is a collection of music she has recorded over the last ten years - some re-recorded with new arrangements and some never before released. From the big band sound in the opening cut "One Bad Habit" to warm suttle standards like "Smile" and "All the Way" Linda Eder takes you with her with her unique emotional style. Then, she blows you away with big powerful balads like "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Let Him Fly"! This CD is worth the it just for these two songs. Linda is amazing! Even though the music is not new, some of it is new to many fans. Linda never ceases to outdo herself and to amaze us all. I can't believe how impressive her voice is. She is part of an incredible team - her husband Frank Wildhorn's music is absolutely inspiring. I definitely reccomend this CD. Submitted by a reviewer (Pittsburgh, PA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? LINDA YOU HAVE INDEED TOUCHED THE "GOLD" "Story Book" is indeed "golden". Ever since I was "introduced" to you, I have never stopped listening to you or watching you perform. From "Jekyl and Hyde" to "Camille Claudel". You never cease to amaze us with your voice. This album, again proves you to be the voice of this century -- with no comparison. | | Linda Eder Gold CD (2002)
Storybook CD music
$10.39 This hit album gets its title (as well as its chart status) from its title song, which was featured in the 2002 Winter Olympics. "Gold" is a stately, dramatic affair that finds Eder's theatrical voice striding magisterially atop a swelling bedrock of strings. This disc's mainstream appeal lies not only there, but also in a chirpy rendition of "Here Comes the Sun," presumably a tribute to the recently deceased ...
| | Linda Eder Broadway My Way CD (2003)
Storybook music CDs
$10.65 In many senses, BROADWAY MY WAY is the album for which Linda Eder fans had been waiting ever since the singer first gained notoriety for her performance in JEKYLL & HYDE. Unlike her other records, here Eder eschews the material of her husband/collaborator Frank Wildhorn in favor of an entire disc of classic Broadway show tunes. Wisely, she mostly avoids the overdone chestnuts (with a few exceptions like "Edelweiss" from THE SOUND OF MUSIC and "The Impossible Dream" from MAN OF LA MANCHA) and chooses a solid collection of uniformly great songs from great shows. Though Eder's vocals never quite match the awesome purity of tone and sensitivity of Barbra Streisand (who Eder has been compared ...
| | Lyle Lovett Smile CD (2003)
Storybook songs
$12.35 By 2003, fans of Lyle Lovett had grown hungry for any offerings from their hero, as his last album of new material was 1996's THE ROAD TO ENSENADA. While awaiting the next batch of compositions from Lovett's witty pen, they'd been treated to a live album (LIVE IN TEXAS) and a double record featuring covers of tunes by other great Texan songwriters (STEP INSIDE THIS ...
