This is a multi-channel hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.

Howls of rage greeted Bob Dylan as he presented the world with rock music--he was roundly booed at both the Newport Folk Festival and the Royal Albert Hall. Yet here is one of those moments of cross-influence that changed the course of popular music. BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME gave Dylan an audience on a plate; it was a massive breakthrough. An album of two different sides, acoustic (his past) and electric (his future), it contains milestones in the blues-rockers "Maggie's Farm" and "Subterranean Home Sick Blues," the future Byrds hit "Mr. Tambourine Man," and the transcendently poetic "It's Alright, Ma." You can debate the "is it folk or is it rock" argument forever. It's merely Dylan at one of his many peaks.

Originally released in 1965, this reissue is a hybrid CD consisting of remastered regular version playable on all players and a super audio CD version for players equipped with the format. 5.1 Surround Sound too! 11 tracks packaged in digipak format. Sony. 2003.

Recorded at Columbia Recording Studios, New York, New York in January 1965. Includes liner notes by Bob Dylan.

Rolling Stone (12/11/03, p.106) - Ranked #31 in Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time" - "...Dylan amplifies his cryptic, confrontational songwriting with guitar lighting and galloping drums..."
NME (Magazine) (10/2/93, p.29) - Ranked #48 in NME's list of the "Greatest Albums Of All Time."

5 stars The Lyrical Genius of Bob Dylan
This album is one of the finest examples of the genius that is Bob Dylan. The way he uses insane imagery to convey messages is fantastic and just shows how skilled e actually is. Songs like "Gates of Eden", "It's Alright Ma...", and Bob Dylan's 115th Dream" are filled with intelligence and wit that shadows anyone who dares contend with them.

5 stars A real ear opener
Of all the 16 BD titles released in SACD, this one surprised me the most, in the sonics department. For some reason, Highway 61 Revisited did not recieve similar treatment - with that one, I find the improvement over the CD to be marginal. With Bringing it All Back Home, however, I was floored - I had not heard such realistic acoustic guitar, or such a full bottom end (on the electric tracks) before, and certainly did not expect such sonic improvements as are evident on this release. If you like Dylan's 60's work, and don't have a SACD player, I'd advise you to get one - and this SACD now!

4 stars Great Evolutionary Leap For Dylan
Bringing It All Back Home combines the folk guitar and ironic song content that Dylan built on in his early years with a new independence based in a confidence of his own songwriting ability. Needful in any Bob Dylan collection.

5 stars My #1 album!
This is the greatest album of all time in my opinion!! If I was stranded on a deserted island and I could only have one album - this would be the one! All the songs on here are so magnificent and the lyrics are so poetic its just amazing! I think "Mr. Tambourine Man" is the greatest song in popular music culture and "Love Minus Zero", "Maggie's Farm", "Subterranean", "It's Alright Ma" and "It's All Over Now" are all Dylan staples that will never grow old! I would call this album #1, Blonde On Blonde #2, and Highway 61 Revisited #3.
