A long lost friend
I had the original LP at a time when we were first married. It was stolen by a burglar some 10 years ago together with another 200 LP's.
I've looked for it for a long time, and luckily a CD of the same lost friend is now in my possession. It will NOT leave again !!!

Beloved since childhood
I first heard the vinyl version of this album 40 years ago - maybe more - and it became and has remained one of my favorites.
Tennessee Ernie Ford performs with wit, humor, deep emotion, and unerring interpretation as he sings these great songs of faith.
This album comes from a time when music had melody, harmony, intonation, and clarity.
His "Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord" is the best version of that spiritual I have heard. Tennessee Ernie had the good sense to know that "Ham, Shem, and Japheth" were the sons of Noah. Some recorded versions of the song say "take a handshave and shave" -- a reflection of ignorance of biblical proportions.
If you love the old hymns, you can't miss with this album.

The best albums of spirituals!
I received this record album for Christmas when I was in the 6th grade, and I have cherished it ever since. I have never heard an album worth of spirtuals that I have enjoyed like this one. Its humorous in places, upbeat and very spiritual at the same time. For any fan of Tennessee Ernie Ford, you just gotta have this!
