The Lord of Composers
Howard Shore really outdid himself. I'm not going to distinguish between all three film soundtracks, but this CD has a lot of my favorites. All three film soundtracks are unique in their own way because the films themselves are unique thanks to the brilliant minds of Peter Jackson and J.R.R Tolkien. The music itself varies so much between soft elegantly composed pieces and the booming battle scenes. Between light and dark.
Also they have many guest singers such as Enya who fit in perfectly in some pieces like my personal favorite Twilight and Shadow.
Bottom line, get this soundtrack, as well as those of the Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers. Submitted by Jesse (Wisconsin) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo

Amazing, simply amazing. This soundtrack is one of the best. It is simply amazing. I had the honour of being able to listen to Howard Shore conduct this soundtrack live, along with the other two. The sound is amazing, the elvish, orcish, and other lyrics in the background of the songs. Billy Boyd is simply wonderful in The Steward of Gondor, I had no idea he had such a voice!
I have no idea what that person was thinking when they gave this soundtrack one star. Just because it may be your least favourite of the three does not mean it is horrible.
This soundtrack is nothing short of amazing. It is so much more. Submitted by Ali (Portland, OR, USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
