Any album that features both boy-band vet JC Chasez and goth-punk icon Siouxsie Sioux calls for a double take, and once Basement Jaxx have your attention, they pull you into the non-stop house party of KISH KASH. On their third album, the UK ... Full Descriptionduo of Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton joins the ranks of the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim by including a remarkable roster of high-profile guest artists that extends to soul/funk diva Me'Shell NdegeOcello and up-and-coming British rapper Dizzee Rascal.
KISH KASH opens with the energetic "Good Luck," which presents the buoyant, Motown-influenced vocals of Lisa Kekaula against a loopy backdrop of distorted synthesizer and a full string section. Other standout tracks include the two Prince-inspired numbers that feature NdegeOcello ("Right Here's the Spot" and "Feels Like Home") and cockney lyricist Dizzee Rascal's delirious Eastern-inflected contribution. The true highlight, however, is the driving, fuzz-bass-fueled title track, which features Siouxsie Sioux's unmistakable vocals over the surging sonic assault. A fun, clever, and always unpredictable outing, KISH KASH is house music for people who don't think they like house music.

Basement Jaxx Kish Kash Songs Kish Kash Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Infectious...yet Questionable I would have to agree with sorrydonthaveone, this album is very cheesy, but I also agree with BJ, I love "Plug it in". I like to dance to this album, but certain songs could be excluded. For example, "Benjilude", "Cosmolude", "If I ever Recover", and "Feels like Home". Although, I love "Hot N' Cold", "Lucky Star", "Plug it In", and "Kish Kash". It simply depends on the genre of music you like. Eclectic, is the one word I would use to describe this "funky" album. FIrst time listener I have got to say that this group has skill in what they do. I was immediately drawn in to this group after I heard the lead single. This is excellent music to chop wood, cook, play cards, drink, make love, dance, drive, perform surgery, learn, jog, skydive, sleep, and breathe to!!! cheesy but i like it since i bought "remedy" album i thaught they were a bit cheesy, This was confirmed when i borrowed "rooty" of my mate.I baught "kish kash" two weeks ago and it was what i was expecting from them, the same beats but with a little twist take "Dizzee Rascal" for example it a typical tune from Basement jaxx but they've let dizzy do his own stuff over the top of it."plug it in" is another cracking tune with it's little electronic riffs and great beats behind all the tunes Submitted by sorrydonthaveone (scottish borders) Was This Review Helpful? Kish Kash album
$14.15 On REMEDY, Basement Jaxx do for house music what the Chemical Brothers did for techno. By utilizing infectious, accessible song structures and incorporating a sense of musical history, the group brings house to the masses without dumbing it down. In the larger sense, REMEDY can be seen as a thumbnail primer on electronic dance music. Everything from '70s-derived vocoder tricks to late-'80s club beats and hard-funk synth bass is used to cook up a varied, flavorful sonic stew. REMEDY's room-shaking grooves will find a place in the hearts of hardcore house heads as well as anyone with a taste for state-of-the-art dance music.
A set of incredibly diverse tracks, 'Remedy' is indebted to the raw American house ...
| | Chills Kaleidoscope World CD (1990) (Import) New Zealand
Kish Kash CD music
$20.45 KALEIDOSCOPE WORLD contains 10 bonus tracks and represents everything the band recorded through early 1986, including all of the LOST EP, and the I LOVE MY LEATHER JACKET/THE GREAT ESCAPE 12"
KALEIDOSCOPE WORLD, The Chills' 18-track compilation culled from The Chills early and mid-'80s EPs and singles, is highlighted by the song "Pink Frost."
The Chills' Martin Phillipps mixes up melodic pop with elements of garage rock and punk, creating songs with a sweet melancholy all their own. Phillipps has always been the focus of the Chills, writing and singing the band's songs. His group has also rivaled Menudo in its sheer number of personnel changes. In a just world, the Chills would have sold just as many records.
KALEIDOSCOPE WORLD showcases the shifting line-ups and many moods of the early to mid-'80s Chills. "Rolling Moon" captures a mood of shambling joy, its simple, repeated keyboard riff sounding like a distant caravan crossing New Zealand's big-sky country. "Pink Frost" is undoubtedly one of the Chills' two or three finest songs, an eerie tale of finding one's lover dead and being stricken with waves of icy panic. Phillipps's ghostly voice floats over glacial, plucked chords, its elegance and restraint only adding to the menace. "I Love My Leather Jacket" could have been written for the wake of "Pink Frost'"s dead lover. The Chills' pumped-up fuzz ...
| | Tales Of A Librarian: A Tori Amos Collection CD (2003) With DVD; Remastered
Kish Kash music CDs
$13.19 A fascinating and emotive performer, Tori Amos first entranced listeners in 1992 with her acclaimed solo debut, LITTLE EARTHQUAKES. The intriguing TALES OF A LIBRARIAN collection files songs from that landmark release along with others from the following 11 years.
Clearly--and proudly--influenced by Kate Bush, Amos can indulge in lush, dramatic compositions as on "Precious Things" and "Crucify," but she is also capable of whittling her songs down to spare piano-and-vocal tunes such as "Way Down" and "Baker Baker." Amos shows even further range on this compilation by including ...

Kish Kash album
$12.69 THE DANGERS release their first CD with a mix of old and new material. Pure pop songs like Radio City, Dedication, and Get High trace three decades of rock music, and were very influential to bands like Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven. A review from GAROD: Dedication - The DangersAgain, I'm too biased to accurately assess this album, but the duo of Johnny Hickman and Chris LeRoy bring together influences from all over the map. You get a little rock-a-billy, country punk, and roots rock all rolled into one. Fans of music of all genres will probably enjoy this the most. Front Door and Sunday Morning are going in high rotation on the Ipod. Those are two good ones to try out...ALSO Read from Cracker leader David Lowery's recent interview promoting The Pioneertown Campout Music Festival in California...THE SUN TELEGRAM:Pappy and Harriet's to host music festivalBy Mark Petix, Staff WriterThey call it a campout, but David Lowery sees it as more of a homecoming...Lowery, the founder of Camper Van Beethoven and co-founder of Cracker, says Pioneertown in the San Bernardino County desert is a special place......Lowery says it's always great to return to the Inland Empire. He says Camper and Cracker's alt/indie sounds were forged in the Inland Empire, where the sounds of ranchero, country and metal could be heard loud and strong. He has vivid memories ...
