The founder of the celebrated Mexican band Los Bukis, Marco Antonio Solis is a cornerstone of modern Tejano and Norteno music. As evidenced by LA HISTORIA CONTINUA's opening track, the laid-back, romantic "Desde Que te Perdi," and most of the other cuts here, his style is sophisticated, his phrasing smoothly elegant, yet undeniably macho (from his early Los Bukis recordings, Solis has displayed a strong tendency towards classy emoting).
Solis is not averse to the passionate outpourings of the Ranchera style, either, as is evident in the traditional, trumpet-accompanied "La Venia Bendita." Meanwhile, with "Recuerdos, Tristeza y Soledad" (from the album of the same name), he shows he's more than capable of running with the Iglesiases of this world, a view that's reinforced by the danceable rhythms of "Me Vas a Hacer Llorar." If you haven't yet treated yourself to Solis's seductive brand of Tejano crooning, LA HISTORIA CONTINUA is a fine place to start. La Historia Continua... | | Marco Antonio Solis Tu Amor O Tu Desprecio CD (2003)
La Historia Continua... music CDs
$7.89 Ever since he started the legendary Mexican pop group Los Bukis in the '70s, singer/songwriter Marco Antonio Solis has been at the forefront of the Mexican music scene. His countless successful solo albums have made him a musical hearthrob on the order of Julio Iglesias, a romantic balladeer with passion (and songwriting skills) to burn. To his credit, Solis never takes it too far over the top, preferring to let his gorgeous voice lilt gently over the melody, expressing emotion without throwing it in your face. In this respect, one might compare him to a 21st century Freddy Fender, lending his lovely tones to heart-rending Mexican-tinged pop for maximum effect on TU AMOR O TU DESPRECIO.
TU AMOR O TU DESPRECIO includes a bonus poster.
Recorded at Watersound Studios, Studio City, California.
Personnel includes: Marco Antonia Solis (vocals, harmonica); Ramon Stagnaro (guitar, requinto); Juan Carlos Giron (guitar); Bernardino De Santiago (guitarron); Jose Guadalupe Alfaro (vihuela); ...

La Historia Continua... songs
$10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" Pierce (Donald Sutherland) and "Trapper" John McIntyre (Elliott Gould), the film has ...

La Historia Continua... album
$11.59 Influential singer-songwriter Solis delivers a collection of 10 new songs in this CD/DVD combination Jeweocase. The DVD features a new music video, along with behind-the-scenes of the video, a photo gallery and discography.
Unapologetically romantic and unerringly able to connect with his massive international audience, Marco Antonio Solis, the founder of seminal Mexican band Los Bukis, has been a mainstay of the Mexican grupero scene for decades. Solis consolidates his musical supremacy with RAZON DE SOBRA, a collection of tender yet passionate love songs sung in his inimitable, relaxed tenor voice. Along with his vast songwriting experience, Solis is a master at the art of vocal seduction, which he carries out at his leisure, from the opening "Mi Mayor Sacrificio," through the lush, Latin-flavored pop of "Siempre Me Toca Perder," to RAZON DE SOBRA's climactic "Se Que Te Tra Mejor." While he owes a debt to Spanish superstar Julio Iglesias, Solis takes Iglesias's smoothly emotive vocal stylings to the next level on the beguiling title track, and the soaring "Siempre Tu A Mi Lado" proves that Solis ...
| | Marco Antonio Solis La Historia Continua..., Vol. 2 CD (2005) With DVD
La Historia Continua... CD music
$13.25 The companion volume to the first installation of LA HISTORIA CONTINUA, PARTE II helps confirm Marco Antonio Solis as one of the most important artists in Latin pop. Solis draws inspiration from Tejano and Norteno, yet his music is more polished than these traditional, folk-based Mexican forms. With his sumptuous tenor and smooth, passionate delivery, Solis is more a balladeer in the classic pop sense, singing dramatic love songs that swell and smolder, even as they lodge themselves in the listener's mind.
This is quintessentially romantic music--LA HISTORIA CONTINUA: PARTE II is packed with fiery, sweeping ballads that speak of broken ...
