For this five-disc box set, which contains four CDs and one DVD, veteran thrash outfit Slayer dipped into their back catalog, overseas bonus tracks, old demos, and live archives to assemble both a "greatest-hits" style package for casual followers and a rarities collection for serious aficionados. Their first two albums, not available through American, are represented with live cuts. There's plenty of dark, sinister metal to chew on, from the infamous musical and lyrical onslaught of the Holocaust-inspired "Angel of Death" through the existential "Seasons of the Abyss" to the amusingly abbreviated interpretation of Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida." The live cuts span basement jams from 1983 right up through the band's classic lineup reunion tour of 2002. There is also a disc featuring bootleg concert footage from throughout the years.

Really hardcore fans will probably have collected this material through soundtracks, live releases, and bootlegs over the years, but for the majority of fans, this will fill the gaps between Slayer's official studio albums. The box set also includes a nicely designed, thorough booklet featuring a full track listing, vintage photos, and extensive liner notes by Mark Paschke and Eric Braverman.

4 stars Slayer Shows No Mercy!!!!
This set is a must have for any SLAYAH!!!! fan.You have the greatest Hits and a buch of rare gems all in one Blood curdling package! My favorite part is the bonus live DVD showcasing Slayer at various points in their illustious career.The only drawback is the sound and picture quality since most of these clips appear to be bootlegged at various shows but at the same time of a Slayer show in the early days!!! Buy this Box now or "DIE BY THE SWORD"!!!!

FIRST TWO CDS ARE AWSOME , THIRD CD IS ALSO GREAT , TRACK 6 AND AFTER ARE BLASTING. THE DVD SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD ALSO . VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE. SEE YOU ALL IN HELL ! JUST KIDDING . 5 stars slayer rules every one else drools
theirs no really new music on the album but all the old best songs are on it. i do not have all the slayers cd so its good for me . plus youl find the rarities on cd 3 so only for this one its good to buy it their guitar is the best same thing for their drums and lyrics. its a dark cd that a recommend to eveery metalmaniacs
