Our sales pitch:
Hi. This message is about Ho Ho Ho Spice, a 2-CD Christmas compilation of \'alternative-ish\" carols to help raise awareness and benefit HOSPICE. If you like artists like The Police, Graham Parker, The Smithereens, Bleach, Brave Combo, The October Project, NRBQ, Better Than Ezra, Chris Stamey and The dB\'s, then please continue to read this.
Those artists, or members of them, are part of a 2-CD, 49 song collection of eclectic and friendly \"alternative-ish\" sounds: from folk to electronic noise. As diverse as the sounds may be, collectively, the compilation focuses on highlighting the spectrum of emotions and feelings evoked by celebrating the holiday--from anticipating a homecoming, to the excitement of finding Santa\'s loot, to wanting the holidays to be finished.
Hospice is a concept of care provided to people in the final months of their lives. This care is brought to any location where the patient resides. The focus is on comfort, but not just physical pain. The interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, medical directors, chaplains and volunteers address emotional, psycho-social and spiritual pain, as well. By concentrating on keeping patients comfortable and alert, hospice care advocates for the patient to live life fully until the end.
Ho Ho Ho Spice comes at a time when fundraising has become even more vital to nonprofit hospice programs. The Medicare per diem reimbursement structure established in the early 80\'s has not been adjusted to the industry changes in the 20 years since. The reality is that the average length of stay has dropped from 30 days to about 15 days and the patients signing on are sicker and in need of more sophisticated (i.e., expensive) interventions. As drug prices skyrocket, a week\'s supply of the most appropriate pain medication can easily surpass the fixed per diem hospice reimbursement rate.
Projects like Ho Ho Ho Spice help reduce this gap. By purchasing a copy, you\'ll directly support the care of hospice patients. THANK YOU!!!
