(31 Customer Reviews)
Energetic Canadian singer Fefe Dobson makes her debut on this self-titled album. This pop-rock outing leans surprisingly towards the rock side of things, as evident on the punky opener "Stupid Little Love Song." Other hard-charging tunes includes the slowly building "Bye Bye Boyfriend" and the nu-metal stompers "Unforgiven" and "Give It Away." At only 18 years of age, Dobson is a surprisingly proficient singer and songwriter--"Everything" references the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Under the Bridge," but takes the melody to different places, while "Julia" is a mature, melancholy song. A strong and diverse first outing that should appeal to fans of both Avril Lavigne and Blink 182, FEFE DOBSON is a welcome addition to the pop-punk landscape.
The first full-length from Canadian rock-soul sensation Fefe Dobson.
Contains the hidden track "Rainbow" which follows "8 X 10."
Personnel includes: Fefe Dobson (vocals); Jay Levine (various instruments); Zak Soulam, Dan Kanter, James Bryan McCollum, Kirk Broadbridge (guitar); Andrew Hollander (piano); Jack Dailey (bass); Nir Z (drums, percussion); Colin Robinson (percussion). She's so talented when I listened to her music Take Me Away I find it really cool, but I thought she was an Avril wannabe, ho wrong was I! Fefe is so talented and unique, and soi is Avril. But they sure have different styles, I can't wait for Sunday Love and I really hope the album release won't get pushed back again. Fefe Dobson album
$8.49 Evanescence won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. FALLEN was nominated for Album Of The Year and for Best Rock Album. "Bring Me To Life" won for Best Hard Rock Performance. The song was also nominated for Best Rock Song.
Picture Tori Amos fronting Nickelback and you'll get an idea of the sound behind Evanescence, an Arkansas quartet whose introduction to the world came via the DAREDEVIL soundtrack. With its debut FALLEN, Evanescence further pushes the envelope on the aforementioned description, with frontwoman Amy Lee pouring her light-yet-strong vocals into the aggro-rock workout "Bring Me to Life" and industrial trip-hop of "My Last Breath." Although guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt leave no riff unplayed on hard-hitting cuts like "Going Under" and "Taking Over Me," Lee brings a nice balance to the table with her gorgeous piano runs, which come to the fore on the very Amos-like "Hello." The perfect balance of hard and soft is met on "Haunted" with its ambient nuance stoked by clattering beats and loops, crunching riffs, and the use of a children's ...

| | Floetry Floacism CD (2003) Bonus DVD
Fefe Dobson music CDs
$15.35 Recorded live at The House Of Blues, New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 3, 2003.
On the intro to "Sunshine," Floetry's "floacist" Natalie Stewart introduces herself and songstress Marsha Ambrosius, greeting the crowd with the refreshing angle, "It's nice to finally meet you." She continues with the declaration, "Every single song on our album was written by ourselves; it's our lives, it's our feelings, our emotions, it's our truth." This phrase sums up the feel of Floetry--word-driven, positive, and wonderfully warm. The passion flows through the duo on their second record FLOACISM, which features three new studio songs followed by a live show at the New Orleans House of Blues.

Fefe Dobson songs
$6.35 "Genie In A Bottle" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
"What A Girl Wants" was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Christina Aguilera rocketed to the top of the charts with the smash hit "Genie in a Bottle" from this self-titled debut and placed herself among a leading generation of young, multi-talented pop artists. Like fellow performers Britney Spears, J.C. and Justin of 'N Sync, and actress Keri Russell, who stars in the TV show Felicity, Aguilera is a graduate of the New Mickey Mouse Club television program.
Songs such as "What a Girl Wants" with its guitar-driven melody, and the soulful gospel strain of "So Emotional" show Christina Aguilera's polish. Some of the other tracks that stand out are the powerful "I Turn to You," which was written by Diane Warren; "Reflection," which was produced by Matthew Wilder; and the dance floor mover "Love Will Find a Way," from hit makers Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers.
Always one for a remix, Madonna follows the AMERICAN LIFE album with an EP that includes alternate mixes of four album tracks. "Nothing Fails (Nevins ...

| | Earl Palmer World's Greatest Drummer, Ever! CD (1999)
Fefe Dobson music CDs
$14.55 THE WORLD'S GREATEST DRUMMER, EVER! is a compilation that contains recordings by various artists with Earl Palmer.
This 30-song selection of tracks on which Palmer played in the late 1950s cannot, and does not purport to, tell the whole story of his career. After all, there's only one track apiece from his work with Little Richard and Fats Domino. What this various-artists compilation (only four tracks were actually released under Earl Palmer's name) does, however, is give a pretty good idea of Palmer's early rock & roll contributions via a few well-known hits, a lot of rarities, and a bunch of styles. While Fats Domino's "I'm Walkin'," Bobby Day's "Rockin' Robin," Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba," Thurston Harris' "Little Bitty Pretty One," and Eddie Cochran's "Somethin' Else" are here, most of this is pretty obscure R&B, catching that music's transition to rock. In addition to fairly little-heard sides by Lloyd Price, Richard Berry, and Shirley & Lee, there's hard R&B from Smiley Lewis ("Shame, Shame, Shame"), Amos Milburn, and Charles Brown; gravelly jump 'n' jive from Roy Montrell; Etta James' rock & roll remake of "Dance with Me Henry" ...
