| Pressure Points Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) This is good but.... the pressing of this DVD includes all the snap crackle and pop noise you'd expect to hear on a vinyl record. The price is way to much for this sorry recording. Very poor audio quality. Does not do Camel any justice. If you can live with that, then buy it! Submitted by kurtman43 (Sacramento, Ca.) For fans of Steve Hackett, Saga and Mike Oldfield An excellent DVD! A conceptual work for the first 40 minutes, basically the LP "Stationary Traveller" played live. Mel Collins of King Crimson plays some fine saxophone on 4 tracks. The late Peter Bardens(ex-member of Camel) appears on the encore tracks, "Snow Goose" and "Lady Fantasy". Picture quality is very good with a slight grainy quality(due to it being recorded in the early '80s). 4 stars out of 5 for picture quality. Sound quality is also very good/excellent, although there are a few pops and clicks...and one video/audio glitch halfway through the track "Cloak And Dagger Man"(again, due to analogue storage). 4.5 out of 5 stars for sound quality. The reason I give this 5 stars with the few discrepancies of the video/audio; it's because you won't find any Camel releases on video from this period anywhere. The performance is top notch to boot. Andy Latimer should be commended for this excellent DVD re-issue. If you got your Camels...light'em and smoke'em! Submitted by goon_belanger (Windsor, ON, CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Pressure Points album
$10.99 Prog outfit Camel is revisited on the reissue of their album, MIRAGE.
With their second album, Mirage, Camel begin to develop their own distinctive sound, highlighted by the group's liquid, intricate rhythms and the wonderful, unpredictable instrumental exchanges by keyboardist Pete Bardens and guitarist Andy Latimer. Camel also distinguish themselves from their prog rock peers with the multi-part suite "Lady Fantasy," which suggests the more complex directions they would take a few albums down the line. Also, Latimer's graceful flute playing distinguishes several songs on the record, including "Supertwister," and it's clear that he has a more supple technique than such ...
| | Camel Moonmadness CD (1976) (Import) Remastered; Germany
Pressure Points CD music
$11.99 MOONMADNESS, the album from Camel, returns in this remastered rerelease.
Abandoning the lovely soundscapes of Snow Goose, Camel delved into layered guitar and synthesizers similar to those of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here on the impressive Moonmadness. Part of the reason behind the shift in musical direction was the label's insistence that Camel venture into more commercial territory after the experimental Snow Goose, and it is true that the music on Moonmadness is more akin to traditional English progressive rock, even though it does occasionally dip into jazz-fusion territory with syncopated rhythms and shimmering keyboards. Furthermore, the songs are a little more concise and accessible than those of its predecessor. That doesn't mean Camel has abandoned art. Moonmadness is indeed a concept album, based loosely on the personalities of each member -- "Chord Change" is Peter Bardens, "Air Born" is Andy Latimer, "Lunar Sea" is Andy Ward and "Another Night" is Doug Ferguson. Certainly, it's a concept that is considerably less defined than that of Snow Goose, and the music isn't quite as challenging, yet that doesn't mean that Moonmadness is devoid ...
