Juvenile rose from the New Orleans projects' "bounce" dance scene and turned into one of Cash Money Records' most popular artists on the strength of his 1998 album 400 DEGREEZ and its wildly popular hit single "Back That Azz Up." And while JUVE ... Full DescriptionTHE GREAT may not quite rise to the heights of that album and its multi-faceted depictions of New Orleans gangsta life, tracks such as "Down South Posted" and "Bounce Back" will keep fans of the rapper and of the Dirty South well satisfied. Still, irrefutable proof that Juvenile is no run-of-the-mill Cash Money soldier lies in "Numb Numb," his finely-honed expose of coke dealing New Orleans-style, which manages to be hypnotic, revealing, sympathetic and chilling, all in the space of five minutes.
Recorded at Ocean Way, UTP, Nashville, Tennessee; Circle House, Studio Center, Miami, Florida.
Personnel: Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, Brian "Birdman" Willams, Wacko, Skip, Soulja Slim (rap vocals).
Producers include: Ad Future, Mannie Fresh, Griz, Slice T, Sha Money.

Purchase Juve The Great CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Ludacris Chicken & Beer CD (2003)
Juve The Great album
$12.09 In the year leading up to the release of his third disc, CHICKEN & BEER, Ludacris' distinguished drawl could be heard all over the radio on commanding guest appearance after guest appearance, most notably on Missy Elliott's smash "Gossip Folks." Not that he needed any more airplay--his first two major releases already had the Georgian rapper well established as one of the most accomplished Dirty South crossover acts.
CHICKEN & BEER is an apt title for the ravenously hungry record with few moments of sobriety, as Ludacris unleashes his most gentle of furies. In "Southern Fried Intro," he unabashedly admits to ...
| | Big Tymers Big Money Heavyweights CD (2003)
Juve The Great CD music
$10.28 Cash Money key players Bryan "Baby" Williams and Mannie Fresh continue to profess their love for American currency, women, and more American currency on their fourth album, BIG MONEY HEAVYWEIGHT. In case you were concerned about their financial status, the Big Tymers are still fiscally sound, ...
| | G-Unit Beg For Mercy CD (2003)
Juve The Great music CDs
$12.05 Queens rapper 50 Cent ascended to the pinnacle of the hip-hop world in 2003, and the latter part of the year saw his crew, G-Unit, drop by with their own ubiquitous single "Stunt 101" and debut record, BEG FOR MERCY. Far from an entourage cashing in on one member's immediate success, the success of both 50 Cent and G-Unit is more of a chicken-and-egg situation. Since 1999, G-Unit's mixtape moments have been among the most sought after on the streets, helping to pump up 50 Cent's status until he exploded onto the mainstream.
Unsurprisingly, BEG FOR MERCY delivers a blistering attack of street rap that survives on its own merits. While 50 Cent opens the show on ...
| | Jay-Z Black Album CD (2003)
Juve The Great songs
$12.55 In what he claims to be his final release as a musical performer, Jay-Z drops THE BLACK ALBUM, a sprawling, ambitious effort that rivals the best work of the rapper's already legendary career. Working with a who's who of hip-hop's most high-profile producers, the outrageously talented MC adjusts his flow and subject matter to the wildly varied tracks, proving once again just how gifted he is as a wordsmith.
From the epic "What More Can I Say" (a collaboration with the Buchannans) to the brutally honest, Eminem-produced "Moment of Clarity," THE BLACK ALBUM bleeds with inspiration. Other highlights include the fuel-injected "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" (featuring Timbaland behind the board), the club-ready "Change Clothes" (which sports the Neptunes' trademark beats), and the old-school stomp of "99 Problems" (with pioneering hip-hop producer Rick Rubin). It makes one wonder how an artist at the peak of his craft could willingly put the microphone down. Hopefully, time out of the spotlight will remind Shawn Carter why he became successful in the first place, and find him back in the studio.
Prolific hip-hop superstar Jay-Z certainly knows how ...
| | David Banner Mta2: Baptized In Dirty Water CD (2003)
Juve The Great album
$12.65 In its mix of casual violence and streetwise social analysis, David Banner's second album of 2003 is more or less a direct successor to his sophomore effort, MISSISSIPPI: THE ALBUM. What sets Banner apart from his contemporaries on the East and West coasts is a bedrock sense of rhythm with roots that stretch back to early-20th century Mississippi chain gangs and field workers. This link to history proves to be a vital force that ...
