MAKIN' MAGIC is the second album from Canadian rock guitarist Pat Travers; the set includes guest appearances from drummer Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) and bassist Peter "Mars" Cowling (Judas Priest).
This digitally remastered CD has eight songs, including "Statesboro Blues," the title track, and "Rock N Roll Susie."
Digitally remastered edition of the second Pat Travers album, which is regarded by many of his fans as the best of the man's early albums. It's a harder rocking release than his debut album, featuring the thunderous title track and the classic "Rock N Roll Susie" as well as the blistering "Statesboro Blues". The album is also memorable for the apperance of Nicko McBrain on drums alongside long time bassist 'Mars' Cowling. The album's highlight is perhaps Travers heartfelt message to his own brother "Stevie". Pat Travers Makin' Magic Songs | 1. | Makin' Magic | $0.99 | |

| Makin' Magic Music Review Average Rating: (2 out of 5 stars) Don't be fooled by "Remastered"!!! This is far away from a "remastered" CD: All songs here come from very scratchy vinyl! No remastering, no noise correction - nothing. Very poor record. Had this CD in another release, also from scratchy vinyl, but not as poor as this one here! Save you money - don't buy this!!! Stick To Vinyl I ordered this cd and I was Extremely disappointed!!!! I listened to it once, and I won't put it back into my cd player. This cd has been "remastered" from a vinyl source. It has the clicks and pops still intact. Purchase at your discretion Submitted by Bill (Chicago, IL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 2 found this helpful.
Horrible Sound!!!! Dont Buy this... this is not remastered in a real sense of the word, it is not even worth listening too, WASTE OF MONEY(just take 20.00 and throw it out the window instead!!!!!!!!!! Submitted by Ron (L.A. CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 2 found this helpful.
Terrible!!! I love Pat Travers early work but it is sad when the remastering is so bad you can't even listen to it snap crakle pop this is worse sounding than my vinyl copy don't buy this save your money!!! Submitted by Thomas (Plymouth Mi) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 2 found this helpful.
Excellent CD! I'm so glad that they're re-releasing these early Pat Ttravers cds! The first finally gives you the studio version of "Boom Boom" and this one has a blistering version of Statesboro Blues. The re-mastering significantly improves on the sound quality and Travers really cooks on the guitar, something which his most recent releases lack. Well worth the money! | | Gamma 1 CD (1979)
Makin' Magic CD music
$9.69 For Gamma's debut on Elektra, the band picked Mickey Newbury's "Wish I Was" and Hollies/Linda Ronstadt songwriter Clint Ballard Jr.'s "I'm Alive," when maybe Newbury's "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)" would have been more appropriate. As far as Ballard's contribution goes, the more familiar "You're No Good" might've worked better than "I'm Alive," creativity not being Gamma's strong suit. With such a cool name as Gamma, the rays that turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk, one might expect Ronnie Montrose to come up with a nice mutated blend of hard-edged Pink Floyd meets Hawkwind. No such luck. The opening track, "Thunder and Lightning," has all the pedestrian elements of a marriage between Foreigner and Bad Company, the mainstream meets the mundane. Ken Scott's production work leaves empty spaces in between the guitar crunch and the keyboard fills, ...

Makin' Magic music CDs
$15.59 LIVE AT THE BERKS JAZZ FEST is an Enhanced CD containing a full audio program as well as multimedia computer files and free access to the Internet.
Recorded live at the Berks Jazz Fest in Reading, Pennsylvania on March 17th
One of the best sources for in the pocket smooth jazz recordings since the early '90s, Heads Up's promise of a live date featuring three of its most appealing core artists -- bassist Gerald Veasley, keyboardist Joe McBride, and saxman Kenny Blake -- seems like as sure a bet as the genre can offer. In terms of showcasing the varied strengths of each performer and their adaptability to an ensemble setting, the Heads Up Super Band's Live at the Berks Jazz Fest at Albright College in Reading, PA is a triumph. McBride's forte is playful, uplifting synth melodies and soulful, George Benson-like scat vocals, and he shines on the light funk of "Sweet Street" while Blake matches him note for note. Instrumentally, the band doesn't add too much new to Hall & Oates' gentle '70s hit "Sarah Smile," but McBride takes the opportunity to show his raw vocal power. One of Veasley's specialties is subtly weaving his bass melodically around moody synth atmospheres, and he and Blake do a cat and mouse kind of slow dance on "Night Games." As a leader, Blake specializes in his own brand of sensuous funk, and Veasley gives him a solid, seductive rhythmic foundation to lift a few improvisations off "Dancing at the Pagoda." All of these are mere pleasantries in comparison with the closing tune, a live jam whose combustible spirit shows that these hard workers are about more than radio-friendly ...
| | Weston Stepchildren Of Rock CD (1998)
Makin' Magic songs
$9.99 Doc Hopper provides the flip of a more melodic pop-punk styling that's accompanied by the occasional metal guitar backings. With the vocals not being as gruff as their studio work, the sloppy tendencies are one of the only similarities that's captured in their live act. Again, the previously released material is recycled live, making this entire record look more like a contract obligation ...
| | Bob Schneider Lonelyland CD (2001)
Makin' Magic album
$12.89 Lonelyland is an entertaining, occasionally impressive effort that bodes well for singer/songwriter Bob Schneider's future. The LP kicks off with "Metal and Steel," an acoustic number that is vaguely reminiscent of Paul Simon at his most Dylan-esque. Before the album is done, however, musical styles will twist and turn along the way, reminding one at times of everyone from Lenny Kravitz ("Jingy") to ...

$10.15 The origin of the SKULL and BONE BAND name:A native American medicine man from the Seminole Tribe w/ mixed blood from Ex- African American slaves gave us our name. He said that the two cultures had both been treated as an inferior species. Many supposed Freed African American slaves ended up in New Orleans after the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 (and because of relocation schemes before and after of the Civil War) along with members of the Seminole Tribe. They banded together in order to protect themselves from harm. The result was a new blending of African and Native American traditions. And each year for the Mardi Gras festival, they would put on their Native costumes and join together in a procession to celebrate the circle of life and death. In each of the two cultures, they had a common understanding about life and death. Neither believed in atheism or monotheism. They supported an idea of animism, whereby all of nature is alive, all of nature has a soul, and they are a part of nature’s soul, no greater or worse, but an integral part of the whole. In the beginning they weren’t allowed to participate in the Mardi Gras celebration. So they invented their own. They chose the skull and bone to represent their communion with the spirits. The Skull and Bone krewe consisted mostly of mixed African ...
