| Pangaea Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) nah....
This is not as good as their debut. It's not bad, I'm just not as impressive as Galleries was. Submitted by Culture (Queens, NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Hip Hop at its finest... "Backpackers Unite!!!"
This is for the backpackers, the true hip hop heads and the lovers of art.
This is an excellent album...
Truly excellent... just DOPE!!!!!!!!
Perfect beats, Insightful lyrics, overall a great album.
This is hip hop at its finest.
Very artistic and very optimistic in its view, unlike most of their contemporaries. Great poetic presence, just listen to 'V-peat' and 'If You Cant Say Love'. All tracks are listen-able, and unskippable. Great songs indeed.
A refreshing sound brought by these artists will bless your ears. The artwork is also very nicely done.
Overall a diverse group of emcees with true skills and talent. Do not sleep on these guys. They are visionaries...

Pangaea
$10.45 This Minneapolis duo had spent about a decade at the center of the insular Twin Cities hip-hop scene before their national emergence with 2002's GOD LOVES UGLY, an idiosyncratic slice of state-of-the-art conscious rap. SEVEN'S TRAVELS, their fourth full-length release, is both a logical next step and a quantum leap forward.
Ant's painterly soundscapes conjure the glory years of Daisy Age hip-hop, and frontman Slug makes up for what he lacks in Eminem-style down-and-dirty venom with a compelling combination of grainy imagery and street-level introspection. The production is a layered affair that features off-kilter beats vying for bandwidth with smartly chosen audio verite and musical samples to produce a kaleidoscopic aural effect. Slug's raps ...

Pangaea
$12.79 Two years in the making, and combining two of the best underground hip-hop artists of the early 2000s, this collaboration between MF Doom and Madlib has been appropriately dubbed MADVILLAINY. With both men known for their stunning soundscapes, rhyming skills, and schizophrenic personalities, the duo decided to have Madlib concentrate on the beats and let Doom handle the lyrics.
In mixing their comic-book-like ...

| | MED Push Comes To Shove CD (2005)
Pangaea
$13.45 A subsidiary member of a family that includes Madlib (an Oxnard friend for years) and Peanut Butter Wolf, MED (previously Medaphoar) has to live up to high expectations to earn the Stones Throw logo that adorns the sleeve of his debut album. Push Comes to Shove also has a production cast that any underground rapper (and a few major-label rappers) would kill for -- Madlib on 13 of the album's 18 tracks, plus Jay Dee on two others and the certifiably commercial Just Blaze for one. MED has a little talent for rhymes and good flow, but that's the limit of his ability, and his tracks often tend to played-out hardcore with a few extra feet to his lines and no memorable hooks. So, it's the production that drives these tracks, leaving the raps as merely the window dressing. Listeners will easily recall the vocoder and tooting horn sampled for "Hold Your Breath," but they ...

$12.55 This is the beginning . . . the first of many albums, the first of many bands who are defined by this mission statement — “We have been put on this earth to touch the world for Jesus Christ through music, to be the best bands in the world known for loving Him.”This is the paradigm shift . . . bands, musicians, writers, and leaders who are committed to Jesus Christ and the local church, yet still relevant to a dying world and uncompromising in their excellence. Bands who will love the Lord first, love His people in ...
