Lil' Wayne has been in the national spotlight since his days as the youngest member of the Dirty South's Hot Boys. On his fourth solo record, THA CARTER, Wayne is almost wholly on his own. There are no big-name guest stars (as with Petey Pablo's memorable turn on Wayne's previous album), only recurring shots from producer Mannie Fresh and Cash Money head Bryan "Baby" Williams. Lil' Wayne's easy flow speaks for itself; in a relaxed Southern manner, he waits for the rhyme to unfold before unleashing a torrent of lyrical lines, with consistent, understated beats pulling the tracks along. Not as "lil'" as his name implies, Wayne hits a peak with "This Is the Carter," a brash track that captures the essence of this potent hip-hop album.

You cats cant be serious... you think this cat aint got wat it takes.. its already proven... this man dont sit and write lyrics he go to the booth and spit.. if you thinking what he saying is garbage, you need to go see a doctor... all you characters out their thinking whatever other than weezy is hot. real reconginze real.. for the people who have never heard a track of lil wayne.. you should.. go by the album... im proud to say i own every album that lil wayne owns.

Yes, Best Rapper ALIVE..no doubt, and with this album he proves it. All the haters aside, Mr. Carter sets his feet down with this album unlike any other rapper out there. Every song, rhyme, and beat lives up to every drop of hype out there. T.I. is only getting away with procaiming hes the king of the south cause he was the first one to drop it on a track....when we all really know who is sitting on the throne downs south.....keep bang'n lil weezy...your shAt slaps hard...yeah.

this is the best cd weezy has put out. i know the words to every song on the album. as you can tell lil wayne is my favorite rapper so if you want some real hip hop and not that fake sh*t buy this album. you wont regret it.
