Purchase Last Night In Doolin CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Very Best Of Enya CD (2009)
Last Night In Doolin album
$14.24 Comprised of 18 tracks culled from the singer/composer's first three decades, The Very Best of Enya was pieced together by the artist herself, along with longtime collaborators Nicky and Roma Ryan. Luckily, the trio seems enamored by most of the same songs that the general public is, resulting in one of those rare "greatest-hits" collections that goes deep without depriving the listener of the essentials. ...
| | Celtic Woman CD (2005)
Last Night In Doolin CD music
$15.39 CELTIC WOMAN is the brainchild of David Downes, a composer/conductor who was heavily involved with the American production of RIVERDANCE. Not surprisingly, all of the lights, drama, and musical bombast of that esteemed show are present on this production as well. Instead of showcasing legions of dancers, however, CELTIC WOMAN puts the emphasis on the rich heritage of traditional and contemporary Irish music, as performed by five talented female performers from varying musical backgrounds.
Though the melodies are often extremely simple and unadorned, the production is just as lush and majestic as anything on Yanni's LIVE AT THE ACROPOLIS, and should appeal to fans of that disc. ...
| | Enya And Winter Came CD (2008)
Last Night In Doolin music CDs
$11.85 Unlike Enya's 2006 EP, CHRISTMAS SECRETS, with which it shares no tracks, AND WINTER CAME is not a traditional Christmas album. It's more impressionistic than most, placing a handful of Christmas songs such as "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" ...
| | Enya Celts CD (1987)
Last Night In Doolin songs
$11.95 THE CELTS is the 1992 re-release of a 1987 album simply titled ENYA, containing 15 selections originally composed for a BBC series of the same name. Although a number of the tracks sound dated, several others, including "To Go Beyond (II)" are notable for how they locate the origins ...
| | Real McKenzies Loch'D & Loaded CD (2001)
Last Night In Doolin album
$6.95 The Real McKenzies' brand of Scottish-influenced punk rock is no doubt original. Coming in somewhere between the Dropkick Murphys, Scottish folk music, and dirty, 1977-styled punk, this band -- which plays in full Scottish regalia (yes, that includes the kilts) -- is no doubt quite a treat live. The sound created on Loch'd & Loaded shows off the skills of both bagpipe players and then strikes in with some punk rock discord. Rowdy, snottish vocals sing songs of Scotland, partying, and drinking. Not entirely in depth, but good for those in high spirits; nevertheless, one has to wonder how far a band can go with a style such as this. ~ Kurt Morris

| | Gaelic Storm How Are We Getting Home? CD (2004)
Last Night In Doolin CD music
$11.89 The band that played on the Titanic -- at least in the movie version of the tale -- has managed to build on that invaluable exposure. While there is some traditional music on here, perfectly competently played, the real focus is on Gaelic Storm's own material. They touch on themes that seem endemic to the Irish -- homesickness and drinking, for the most part -- in a musical blend that takes ideas from the tradition and mixes them with generally uptempo acoustic rock that's never offensive (unlike, say, the Pogues). ~ Chris Nickson
The band that played on the Titanic -- at least in the movie version of the tale -- has managed to build on that invaluable exposure. While there is some traditional music on here, perfectly competently played, although with a somewhat uninspired sound, the real focus is on their own material. ...

| | Spellbound: Best Of Sharon Shannon CD (1999)
Last Night In Doolin songs
$15.39 All of the albums that Sharon Shannon recorded for Green Linnet in the '90s are worth owning, but if you've never experienced the pleasures of her neo-Celtic experiments, Spellbound would be the most logical starting point. This CD, which spans 1989-1998, isn't the last word on the experimental button accordionist, but it can still serve as an impressive introduction to her work. Spellbound paints an accurate picture of Shannon -- an exploratory artist who benefits from Irish/Celtic traditions without being enslaved by them. On this eclectic, entirely instrumental collection, one hears Shannon fusing her Celtic foundation with pop, French-Canadian music, calypso, ska, polka, and other styles. Instruments typically associated with Celtic music -- including fiddles, mandolins, and hammer dulcimers -- are prominent, but Shannon also employs saxophonists, organists, and electric guitarists. There ...
